After over a decade of obstacles and planning, the “American Dream” mega- mall has finally committed to a date for its grand debut. According to a Forbes article, the idea for the super- complex in New Jersey was passed by officials 16 years ago and was set to open in 2007. However, the developer, Mills Corp. went out of business and couldn’t continue developing the mall. The project was then given to a second developing company that too, couldn’t finish the job. In 2011, the project was then given to the Triple Five Group. This company was the perfect choice as it has already worked on the biggest malls in North America. They planned on taking the best parts of their other malls and consolidating it into one fascinating property.
The original opening date estimate was Winter, 2013. On October 25, 2019 the mall opens its enormous three million square foot facilities to the public, almost 6 years later than its estimate. With dozens of unique attractions, the Triple Five Group wanted to make sure everything was perfect for its opening, and reaching absolute perfection delayed the opening, but it ensured that the debut wouldn’t disappoint. The Meadowlands mall provides people with entertainment that is usually found in places like Disney World or Universal Studios. According to a Crain’s New York Business article, The American Dream mall contains theme parks from Nickelodeon and DreamWorks.
The mega- mall also plans to open the first indoor winter sports facility ever. In addition, the Crain’s article also states that the mall will contain a performing arts center, a LEGOLAND Discovery Center, and an aquarium, as well as an NHL- sized ice rink, and an Angry Birds themed mini golf course. Don Ghermezian, the president of the American Dream project, and a member of the family that owns Triple Five, said, “We have a one-of-a-kind property that will reshape the way people think about entertainment, theme parks and shopping.” This mall takes everything we love and stuffs it in one building. From shops, to restaurants, to theme parks, to an aquarium, the American Dream will not disappoint. New Jersey residents should mark their calendars for October 25, because this mall will give people an unforgettable experience. With a plethora of entertaining things to do, the amazing mega- mall really does represent the American dream.
I’m working I. This mall….1, there is absolutely 0………0 chance that this mall is open on October 25. That is a complete pipe dream, don’t buy into it. 2, while it’s a nice building there really isn’t anything in here that I would consider “spectacular” it’s pretty much your generic mall as far as design goes….3, the water park, and amusement park can not hold a candle to jenkinsons or seaside so to put Disney in the same sentence as this place is just foolish….finally, they keep saying that this is 55 percent entertainment, I simply don’t see this, this to me is the gimmic they are using to try to make people think this is something other then a mall because as we all know in this day and age malls are beginning to be an antiquated idea.
