Is Donald Trump raking in lots of cash even news?
Crain’s New York Business has compiled a list of who’s giving to which politicians this campaign season, and some of it might surprise you.
For example, the fact that Republican President Donald Trump is getting lots of moolah from donors in this Democrat stronghold.
“Because the Commander in Chief is already his party’s presumptive nominee, he has been able to suck hundreds of thousands of dollars into his Trump Victory Committee, a joint fundraising account formed with the Republican National Committee,” Crain’s Will Bredderman reported. “The Democratic candidates currently vying to replace him will have to win their primary before they can set up a parallel war chests with their party’s committee and accept similarly huge dollar amounts.”
The business publication’s summary shows donations to Trump coming from:
* Steven, Zachary and Alexander Witkoff, who have “contributed more toward the president’s second-term aspirations than any other dynasty. Collectively, the developers donated a whopping $849,000 to the Trump Victory Committee, and $16,200 to the Donald J. Trump for President account.”
* Robert “Woody” and Suzanne Johnson: The U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom and his wife have kicked in $360,600 each, as well as a combined $11,200 directly to the campaign.
* Lianbo Wang and Sherry Li: This Long Island-based due have contributed $600,000 to the Trump Victory and $10,800 to the campaign, Crain’s said.
* Stephen Schwarzman: The chief executive officer of private equity giant Blackstone has forked over $594,000 to the Trump Victory account, plus $5,400 to the campaign, according to Crain’s.
* Anthony and Lynda Lomangino: The head of both Allied Sanitation and Star Recycling has reportedly donated $550,000 to the Trump Victory Committee and $8,500 to Donald J. Trump for President, Crain’s reported.
* Joseph and Trina Cayre: The founder of Midtown Equities, together with his wife, have given $420,000 to the Victory Committee on top of $5,000 to the president’s campaign, said Crain’s.
* John, Margo, Andrea and John Jr. Catsimatidis: The family behind the Gristedes grocery has tendered $440,000 to the Trump Victory Committee and $5,800 to the Trump campaign.
* Marvin and Donna Schwartz: The Neuberger Berman executive and Lehman Brothers veteran has handed $10,800 to the campaign and $435,000 to the Victory Fund.
* Steven Roth: The Vornado Realty billionaire and co-developer of Hudson Yards has given $300,000 to the Trump Victory Fund and $5,600 to the 2020 campaign, according to Crain’s.
