Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) on Tuesday declared a state of emergency and has ordered the increase of National Guard presence following two nights of riots in Kenosha and Madison in the wake of a police-involved shooting of an African-American man.

Executive Order #86 proclaims a state of emergency in Wisconsin, directs state agencies to continue assisting the state response, and calls to state active duty additional elements of the Wisconsin National Guard to support first responders and protect critical infrastructure and cultural institutions. The state of emergency declaration comes as earlier today Gov. Evers released a statement regarding protests in Wisconsin last night.

Following protests on Monday night, Gov. Evers today announced he is authorizing increased Wisconsin National Guard support for Kenosha County to 250 members and will continue to adjust to meet local needs.

Even with the curfew and national guard, buildings burned & several people were assaulted, national media however, insists on keeping the violence at these protests over the police shooting of 29-year-old Jacob Blake out of the public eye.

Black was  shot multiple times in the back by police officers. An eyewitness said that police told Blake to “drop the knife,” though he himself did not witness Blake carrying a knife. Speaking to the Chicago Sun Times, Blake’s father said that his  son is paralyzed from the waist down, Breitbart reported.

CNN quickly changed an accurate chyron describing the protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, as “violent” during Monday’s broadcast of The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.

“8PM Curfew Ordered After Violent Protests Over Police Shooting Of Unarmed Black Man In Wisconsin,” the screen briefly read during Monday’s broadcast as Blitzer introduced CNN correspondent Omar Jimenez, reporting from Kenosha.

Watching this clip you can comically see CNN changing the chryon, removing the word violent

After widespread looting, fires, violence and other destruction for a second night in Kenosha, Wisconsin, CBS News anchor Gayle King described the riots as “peaceful.”
