Biden Called Out for Advocating Child Experimentation by Supporting Gender Affirming Medical Treatment for Transgender Minors

As the issue of gender affirming medical treatment for transgender minors continues to dominate the headlines, President Biden last week expressed his support for such affirmation by medical professionals. This essentially translates into not determining whether a child is suffering from gender dysphoria, but rather just implementing a child’s immediate wishes through the use of controversial puberty blockers and sex reassignment surgery.
The New York Post recently reported that 18-year-old Chloe Cole, who was born female and transitioned to male as a young teen before “detransitioning,” thinks Biden’s stance could lead more young people down the road toward irreversible medical treatments.
“What Biden was saying is dangerous,” Cole warned, the Post reported. “He’s trying to advocate for further experimentation on children.”
The California teen, who began identifying as a boy at age 12, started puberty blockers and testosterone treatment at 13, and had an elective double mastectomy at 15 to masculinize her chest, as was reported by the Post. By 16, she regretted the surgeries, which she says were spurred by insecurities about her appearance and the influence of social media rather than gender dysphoria. She blames medical professionals for failing to question or prevent her rapid transition, the report indicated.
Speaking to the Post during an interview, she said, “I was failed by the system. I literally lost organs.”
In June of this year, the Post did a profile of Cole as she has achieved recognition for her activism in battling the medicalization of transgender children. She recently spoke at the End Child Mutilation Rally in Nashville and testified against legislation that would make California a sanctuary state for kids from other states seeking medical transition, the Post reported.
Last week, President Biden held a panel discussion at the White House which included six activists from the progressive camp. The Post reported that transgender TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney was present at the discussion and asked Biden if he thinks that individual states should have the legal ability to regulate medical treatment such as hormone replacement therapy and gender-affirming surgery for minors with gender dysphoria.
“Sometimes they try to block you from being able to access certain medicines, being able to access certain procedures and so on,” the president said, according to the Post report. “I don’t think any state or anybody should have the right to do that. As a moral question and as a legal question, I just think it’s wrong.”
The Post reported that the unquestioning medical treatment of transgender minors is becoming increasingly unpopular throughout the Western world. Recently, such countries as the United Kingdom, France and Sweden, stopped providing transgendered minors with irreversible medical interventions. Four US states, including Texas, Alabama, Arkansas and Arizona, have enacted laws preventing gender-affirming care, though they are currently blocked by court rulings, the Post reported. Cole, meanwhile, is campaigning for a Florida rule that will block Medicaid funds from paying for medical interventions in cases like hers.
Cole thinks Biden’s decision to break with this growing consensus is politically motivated. “I seriously doubt he actually believes in it,” she told The Post. “He’s an elderly man and his stances on things have been very inconsistent over the years.”
Cole said she was also “disappointed” to see Biden sit down with Mulvaney, whose TikTok videos have caused controversy for promoting outdated stereotypes about women, she told the Post. The 25-year-old has documented her gender transition in the app with daily updates on her “girlhood.”
In a recent article that appeared on The Epoch Times web site by Brad Jones, a new documentary explores the origins of the transgender explosion.
The film, “Dysconnected: The Real Story Behind the Transgender Explosion,” tells the story of three detransitioners—those who began to transition to the opposite sex but changed their minds—and explores the opinions of medical experts, a teacher, a parent, and a spiritual leader. The 86-minute documentary was unveiled at a live premiere event in Garden Grove, Calif., on October 8th, according to the Epoch Times report.
The film was made by California filmmaker and author Don Johnson, who is the father of three daughters.
“I am a father of four kids, three of whom are girls—all right in that teenage area—so that was probably my prime motivator. It’s a tough time to be a teenage girl,” Johnson told The Epoch Times.
The transgender movement isn’t just a passing fad affecting only the young people who transition, he said. Rather, it affects everyone—their friends, families, communities, and society in general.
“It affects everyone around them that now have to live as if you can just change sexes willy-nilly, and that gender fluid is actually a thing,” he told the Epoch Times.
Not only are medical professionals, teachers and school children expected to accept transgenderism as real, but many people now feel obliged to announce their pronouns in the workplace, said Johnson.
Meanwhile, in California, the government is passing laws that appear to be usurping parental authority and putting their power in the hands of the state, he said.
“So, it’s just an all-encompassing movement that I felt I needed to get a better handle on—what’s going on? What’s behind this? What’s really driving this whole thing?” Johnson said.
In the film, Johnson attempts to debunk the idea that the recent surge in the number of young people identifying as transgender is an organically occurring event.
The Epoch Times also reported that Johnson claims pharmaceutical companies, big business, government agencies, and activists are driving the phenomenon.
“This is a top-down movement driven by ideological people with a lot of money that are pushing this on institutions, that are then pushing it on caregivers of kids, who are then pushing it on kids,” he argued. “This is a sociological phenomenon that has redefined psychological conditions [into the belief] that kids have to be a new gender.”
