(VINnews) — The theme of the party was to celebrate “friends, love and infinite freedom.”and it attracted young people from all over Israel – and even from abroad. But at the end of the night, the revelry turned into a bloody, gory massacre, the worst massacre of civilians in Israel’s 75-year history.

260 bodies have been counted by ZAKA at the scene of the Tribe of Nova trance music festival, testimony to the monstrous callousness of the Hamas terrorists who fired indiscriminately at the unarmed partygoers, slaughtering those who could not run fast enough to escape them and carting off others to Gaza as civilian trophies.
Due to the loud music and festive atmosphere, the partygoers some of whom had drunk to stupor hardly heard the rockets fired into Israel. But soon afterwards the gunfire started- from close quarters.
Nature Party, The outdoor trance music festival was held in honor of the Sukkot festival. Produced by NOVA productions, it began at 11 p.m. and continued all night, attended by thousands of Israelis aged 20-40 from all over the country, according to Reuven. “We heard sirens and rockets, tons of rockets,” Millet Ben Haim, 27, who attended the festival with a group of friends, told the Washington Post.
A voice boomed from the loudspeakers over the tented stages and the chill-out area stating that “Guys, we have red alert,” the voice warned.
Crowds began to leave the covered stages, more confused than panicked. But then came the gunfire.
Hamas was apparently aware of the large party, taking place just three miles from the border, and set it as one of the first targets as they launched their terror attacks on the region. Terrorists fired indiscriminately into the fleeing crowds, grabbing hostages as they left the scene to return to Gaza victorious. Hundreds were murdered in cold blood, as rescue workers and security forces, unaware of the party or of the massacre, failed to arrive for long hours. Some people succeeded in hiding but many others were found and either killed or captured. It is currently unknown how many people from the party were taken captive to Gaza, although international news outlets carried a picture of Noa Argamani and her boyfriend Avinatan Or being taken by motorcycle to Gaza.
Ben-Haim was luckier. “Every direction we ran we had more people shooting at us; we were running for two hours trying to escape,” she said.”We started crawling in bushes. Eventually I realized I couldn’t run anymore.”
She and her friends and a stranger lay down in a bush and covered themselves with leaves.
Israeli forces began to collect the dead from the site of the rave on Sunday, near Kibbutz Reim. Soldiers put bodies in the back of a large refrigerated truck parked next to hundreds of cars abandoned by partygoers. In one clearing, the shells of burned vehicles lay beside discarded tents, camping mats and coolers.
Relatives searching for the missing at a nearby intersection said more than a thousand people were at the event when the terrorists attacked.
