Video recorded by an ESPN whistleblower shows several employees discussing the “racial shit that happens all the time” at ESPN, notably against white people.
On-air talent for ESPN Alyson Lang, who covers the SEC, said the “blatantly racist” environment against white people at the studio made her feel hated.
“I know the comments that have been made to me at work and the conversations that have been had in front of me at work, like, I mean just blatantly racist sh*t. Just blatantly, like, complaining to me that we have three white hosts, and I’m like, ‘What do you want me- do you want me to leave?’” she said.
“Like we’ve known each other for four years, do I not deserve to be here?” she added.
Likewise, ESPN anchor Matt Schnick called the network “a global entity of forced thought.”
The footage was provided by ESPN Studio Operator, Trevor Adams, who aired his grievances about ESPN’s racist workplace environment in a companywide email, and was harassed by police sent by ESPN as a result.
“A lot of people were cheering me on,” Adams said about his email. “A lot of people said, ‘We’re glad you sent this. We hope something comes of it. We don’t think it will, but we’re glad that finally someone spoke up.’”
