( i24 ) Army says drone fell down during operational activity, no risk of information breach

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said late Saturday that a drone used by the Israeli military hit the ground in the Lebanese territory earlier in the day.

The drone fell during operational activity at the border between the two countries, the army added, clarifying there was no risk that the incident could result in an information breach.

Earlier, Lebanese Hezbollah said that it had downed the drone.

The terrorist group said that the UAV was shot down in the vicinity of the Ayta ash-Sha’ab village and was now in Hezbollah’s possession.

The incident comes amid an uptick of tensions on Israel’s north, with Hezbollah pledging to avenge the death of an operative in Syria in an alleged Israeli strike.

However, in the wake of the deadly blast in the Lebanese capital of Beirut, the IDF pulled back some of the reinforcements deployed to the north border.

While the group claimed it had nothing to do with the 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate that went up in the port of Beirut, killing dozens and injuring thousands, it allegedly received smaller-volume supplies of the same material from Iran.
