Wild Scene of the Film “Joker: Folie a Deux” to Be Shot at Manhattan Courthouse Where Trump Grand Jury is Empanelled

Edited by: TJVNews.com

With the focus on the grand jury testimony taking place at Manhattan Criminal Court, the media has just about camped out there, awaiting a verdict, if any, in relation to whether former President Donald Trump will be indicted in the hush money case involving former attorney Michael Cohen.

That being said, it now appears that an extra dose of drama is being added to the mix. According to a New York Post report, a wild scene from the movie sequel of “Joker” is scheduled to be filmed outside the Manhattan Criminal Court, where the grand jury in the Trump case has been hearing testimony.

The Post reported on Thursday that the film shoot for “Joker: Folie à Deux” will feature faux explosions, 700 “protesters” and a possible appearance by Lady Gaga, who is starring in the flick along with Joaquin Phoenix and Robert DeNiro, according to NBC.

On Wednesday, a movie crew was seen near the lower Manhattan courthouse along with a trailer and film equipment, the Post report. Signs were posted that said that on Saturday and Sunday, a film shoot will take place over several blocks of street parking.

The Post also reported that according to CBR.com, the signs that were posted that announced the film crew’s intention of taking over street parking in the area said that the film was listed as “Juliet,” a Shakespearean working title for the movie in the same vein as the temporary name of the first film, which was originally dubbed “Romeo.” The yellow signs were put up by the New York Police Department.

It appears that the sign with the decoy name for the film in which scenes are scheduled to be shot at the courthouse serves the purpose of dissuading fans of the film from gathering at the shoot. The Post reported that throngs has gathered at a Bronx staircase where the villain menacingly danced in the 2019 film, which was also shot on location in and around New York City.

The lower Manhattan court house on Center Street and Hogan Place is no stranger to film production companies who have shot many movie scenes there over the years.  The scene that is expected to be shot there over the weekend is considered a big budget one and comes as a Manhattan grand jury was set to weigh whether to indict Trump. The Post reported that in addition to a gaggle of media outlets congregating around the courthouse, crowds of curiosity seekers and onlookers assembled there are well in the midst of the high profile case.

Court officials told the Post that on Wednesday, the grand jury did not hear evidence in the case and will once again not deliberate or vote on the expected indictment on Thursday either.

On Thursday, Breitbart.com reported that Harvard Law School Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz, author of “Get Trump: The Threat to Civil Liberties, Due Process, and Our Constitutional Rule of Law,” said on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Sunday with host Joel Pollak that Manhattan’s district attorney Alvin Bragg created “a crime that doesn’t exist” in his legal pursuit of former President Donald Trump.

Alvin Bragg knows he is not pursuing a “righteous prosecution,” Dershowitz stated, according to the Breitbart.com report.

Dershowitz speculated that a televised “perp walk” of Trump would amount to a political boon for Bragg’s reelection campaign. “He knows he will probably lose in the end, but it doesn’t matter,” he remarked. “Get the perp walk. It will get to TV, and he’ll probably get reelected.”
