Hezbollah ‘drone footage’ of Karish gas rig video faked, investigation finds

Aerial footage of Israel’s Karish offshore natural gas platform released by Hezbollah on Sunday is fake, according to i24 News.

The video is a doctored version of promotional material produced by Energean, the British-Greek company that purchased the Karish and Tanin gas fields from Delek Drilling and Avner Oil in 2016 for $150 million.

“The only difference was that Hezbollah added some drone target graphics,” according to the report.

The Israel Defense Forces on Saturday shot down three unmanned aerial vehicles approaching the Karish platform from Lebanon.
