The pro Hamas crowd is too radical for even the furthest left of the Democrat party .
The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is facing a financial crisis, prompting leaders to consider job cuts and layoffs similar to corporate entities. The organization, known for its protests against Israel, is in a seven-figure deficit, leading members to propose significant cost-cutting measures.
The NY Post dug into this interesting political development.
According to the proposal put forward by members affiliated with the Marxist Bread and Roses caucus, the DSA plans to cut $500,000 from staff-related expenses. They are considering voluntary position cuts with severance for director-level and bargaining unit staff. If necessary, layoffs may be initiated based on the DSA union’s contract.
The financial challenges are attributed to staff-related costs accounting for 58% of total expenditure and 72% of projected income. DSA members, Alex Pellitteri, Kristin Schall, and Laura Wadlin acknowledged the need for painful decisions to address the current deficit.
Progressive Jewish activists are blaming DSA leaders for the fiscal crisis, accusing them of damaging the group’s credibility by supporting Palestinian groups, including Hamas terrorists. The DSA has a history of supporting the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement against Israel.
Amanda Berman, founder and executive director of Zioness, criticized DSA for becoming radical and abandoning the progressive movement’s mission. She pointed to a 2022 internal feud over support for Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s visit to Israel as a factor that led to the organization losing activists and financial resources, according to the NY Post.
Despite the financial challenges, DSA officers recommending job cuts expressed confusion about the decline in revenue and membership, considering the current political climate favorable for DSA’s goals. They mentioned the revived labor struggles and the fight for a free Palestine as potential sources of energy for the organization, questioning why their bottom line is sinking.
In a column in the Bread and Roses’ “The Call,” DSA officers attributed the decline to President Biden’s policy regarding Israel’s actions in Gaza, suggesting that it has created an opportunity for an independent alternative from the Democratic Party.
While DSA faces internal challenges and financial difficulties, its leaders remain optimistic about the energy surrounding their anti-Israel protests, despite criticism from progressive Jewish activists who view the organization as having strayed from true justice and equity.
The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is a far left radical political organization in the United States advocating for democratic socialism. With a focus on social and economic justice, DSA seeks to transform the country’s political system to prioritize the needs of the working class. It has been actively involved in various progressive movements, including protests against Israel and support for the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement. Recently, DSA faces a severe financial crisis, leading to internal conflicts and considerations of job cuts. Despite challenges, DSA remains optimistic about its goals, aiming to provide an independent alternative within the political landscape.
“Democratic Socialism”: is generally another word for what the real goal of radical leftists desire; communism. The destruction of the United States republic, and the rise of their utopian communist vision. The average rank and file DSA member does not grasp how radical, dangerous, and anti- American a group like the DSA is. The Hamas and the Pro Terrorist goon squad taking over their organization is a wakeup call.
