Attorneys for Leon Black Claim Woman Who Accused Him of Rape at Jeffrey Epstein’s NYC Home is Lying

Edited by: TJVNews.com

A high-profile legal battle has erupted surrounding allegations of sexual assault involving billionaire investor Leon Black and his purported connection to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, as was reported by the New York Post. The accuser, identified as “Jane Doe” in court documents, claims that she was raped by Black inside Epstein’s Upper East Side Manhattan mansion when she was just 16 years old. The Post reported stated that Black’s legal team has vehemently denied the allegations, introducing their own counterclaims that challenge Doe’s credibility.

The latest developments in the case center around the woman’s allegations and the response from Black’s attorneys. As was reported by the Post, Black, who is the former CEO of Apollo Global Management, is countering the accusations by asserting that Doe is not only lying about the alleged rape but also about her claim of having autism. Black’s lawyers have presented evidence suggesting that Doe does not have autism or Down syndrome, as she purported, but rather was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.  Investigators for Black “spoke with numerous witnesses, including close and extended family members,” the Post report said.

They further claim that Doe intentionally displayed behaviors associated with autism to bolster her claims.

“Plaintiff became aware of and studied those behaviors and began intentionally displaying them in her twenties in order to present herself as a person with autism,” according to the court documents, which noted that Doe avoided eye contact once she “noted that people with autism don’t look other people in the eye,” as was reported by the Post.

“She had never before displayed the behavior,” the documents added.

The woman’s accusations against Black date back to 2002 when she alleges he sexually abused her with sex toys in Epstein’s Upper East Side townhouse on East 71st Street, the Post report indicated. Black’s legal team has characterized the claims as an attempt to smear his name without a factual basis. They maintain that Black has never met Doe and have sought to investigate her claims by learning her identity, according to papers filed in Manhattan federal court on Monday, the Post report said.

The Post also reported that according to the documents filed by Black’s attorneys on Monday, Doe’s relatives also reportedly admitted that she “used a series of different names and personas, has a history of making up alternate realities” — a result of her personality disorder diagnosis,

In response to the legal filings, Doe’s legal representatives have firmly defended her claims, stating that Black’s legal strategy aims to deflect attention from the allegations against him, as was reported by the Post. They emphasize that their clients, who have spoken out about sexual violence, are being bullied and threatened by private investigators allegedly hired by Black.

Jeanne Christensen, a partner at Wigdor Law who represents Jane Doe, denied the allegations in Black’s Monday filing, the Post report indicated.

“Black hopes to shift our attention to defending ourselves against baseless claims so that he can continue to have his private investigators bully and threaten our clients who have dared to call out his sexual violence publicly,” Christensen said in a statement, the report added.

To defend Black against the so-called “uncorroborated allegations” against him, his legal counsel at Perry Law, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan and Estrich Goldin also claimed that Doe recently “posted on social media that she had been abused by Jeffrey Epstein,” the Post reported.

However, according to the documents, “she had never made such allegations before. Her family told her that they did not believe this to be true, and she deleted the posts.”

As was reported by the Post, the unidentified woman claims she was trafficked by Epstein and his longtime partner Ghislaine Maxwell after meeting the couple at an “adult party” she attended with her allegedly abusive cheerleading coach at age 15.

However, Doe only “participated in a county cheerleading program when she was a senior in high school — not when she was 15, as alleged,” the latest filing by Black’s attorneys claims, the Post report said.

Amid the legal wrangling, questions surrounding credibility, accountability, and the handling of sensitive cases come to the forefront. The allegations against Black and the responses from both sides underscore the complexities inherent in high-profile legal battles involving accusations of sexual misconduct. As the case continues to evolve, it prompts a broader discussion about the pursuit of justice, the weighing of evidence, and the role of legal representation in such contentious matters.
