UConn Students Turn Their Campus Into A War Zone After Winning National Championship

(Daily Caller)This isn’t how you do it, UConn.

After the University of Connecticut Huskies won the NCAA March Madness national championship over the San Diego Aztecs on Monday night, UConn students collectively lost their complete minds. Some pulled down light poles, others tore down street signs, while another group of students smashed windows and created other damage as thousands (most of them students) flooded the UConn campus.

By early Tuesday morning, a total of 15 people were arrested, while 16 were taken to the hospital. However, none of the injuries appear to be serious, according to UConn spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz.

“The vast majority of those celebrating the Husky victory last night did so safely and responsibly,” said Reitz in a statement. “A small number chose to risk their safety and that of others by vandalizing or destroying property after the game.”

It’s a shame that this happened, because it completely takes away from the fact that UConn has solidified themselves as a blue blood program.
