Betty Boop McCollum
(D-Minn) at it…Again
Dear Editor:
World Israel News, “Rep. Betty McCollum (D-Minn) has relaunched a bill titled “Defending the Human Rights of Palestinian Children and Families Living Under Israeli Military Occupation Act” – this time with the support of terrorist groups. McCollum provided no evidence of Israel’s mistreatment of Palestinian children, nor did she reference any Palestinian abuse of the children, such as training them to become “martyrs.” Neither did she mention Palestinian terror attacks against innocent Israelis. In May 2022, McCollum was co-sponsor of a bill recognizing the ‘Nakba’ – Arabic for ‘catastrophe,’ referring to the establishment of the Jewish state in 1948 – together with fellow anti-Israel lawmakers Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Marie Newman.”
“The airstrikes did not deter the PIJ from encouraging children to head for the roofs. Senior PIJ leaders who were killed in Israeli raids also gathered their children around them in the hope of using them as human shields.”
So what are the facts she ignores? Palestinian children, for all to see, from ages of 3 to 5 dressed like suicide bombers. An estimated 10,000 children are trained in Hamas’ terrorist camps each year; at least 160 have died digging terror tunnels into Israel. A group of NGOs formed, ‘The Coalition to Save Palestinian Child Soldiers’, and is urging the public to sign an open letter to child welfare advocates condemning the use of Palestinian children as soldiers.”
McCollum’s remarkable selective amnesia includes her silence about the Muslim-on-Muslim child abuse of Afghani children made into sex slaves by Taliban warlords and child soldiers in Africa. Let us wish McCollum a speedy recovery from her IsraelaPhobia before she harms more “Palestinian” children by falsely blaming Israel instead of protecting them from the real abusers—Arab adults, parents and leaders who use them as human weapons, teach them to kill themselves and Jews as an act of holy martyrdom, who hate Israel more than they love their children.

Where Was the NYPD When
Daniel Penny Needed Help?
Dear Editor:
Former New York Governor David Paterson has come out in support of Daniel Penny — claiming the Marine veteran rdid not commit a crime and should not have been charged with manslaughter in the subway chokehold death of Jordan Neely.
Paterson theorized that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg didn’t want to let Penny, 24, loose because of a history of minorities getting killed under controversial circumstances — but said the defendant is not at fault for what the ex-gov deemed an unfortunate tragedy.
“Penny did something because he saw danger for other people and tried to prevent it,” Paterson told radio talk show host John Catsimatidis on the “Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM on Sunday.
“He did not meet the threshold where you charge someone.”
Paterson pointed out that Neely, a 30-year-old homeless man, had a long history of mental illness and, while calling his death a “tragedy,” said that it shouldn’t be seen as “an execution.”
I happen to agree with former governor Paterson. I also believe that this entire tragic death might well have been averted had there been a much faster response time by the New York City Police Department. I am wondering why the people who made it their business to take a cell phone video of Daniel Penny trying to restrain Neely did not immediately alert the train conductor that a man became violent and passengers were restraining him. Had they done so, perhaps the personnel aboard that F train could have contacted the police within moments. That would have meant that Penny would have been able to release Neely in a much shorter amount of time. If that scenario would have unfolded, I believe Neely would be alive today. I also believe that had Neely been arrested for menacing conduct, he would have been given the mental health services that he required.
While I applaud the men and women of the New York City police force for the generally outstanding job that they do on a regular basis, I am quite disappointed that they did not show up to that crime scene much sooner.
Sincerely

Shame on the Woke, Progressive Left
Dear Editor:
According to an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal, Jordan Neely’s life and death were tragic. For those not in the know, Neely was the mentally ill and violent homeless man who went berserk on a New York City subway train. He was restrained by a good Samaritan who could not just stand by and watch this person threaten the lives of innocent subway riders. Tragically, Neely died but that could have certainly been prevented.
The WSJ reported that Neely’s mother was brutally murdered by her boyfriend when Neely was 14, which the family says was the beginning of his troubles. But it isn’t quite true that he fell through the cracks.
In February, prosecutors offered him a good, no-prison deal for assaulting a 67-year-old woman—whose nose was broken and eye socket fractured—in exchange for 15 months of treatment at a residence for homeless men. He skipped out after two weeks and another arrest warrant was issued, according to the WSJ report.
It’s certainly true Penny knew nothing of this history when he confronted Neely. But he also didn’t know if Neely was armed with a knife or other weapon, as was reported in the WSJ. Above all, he didn’t know the district attorney would abuse his discretion to make Penny the scapegoat for the city’s institutional failures. It isn’t Penny’s fault that Neely was out threatening commuters instead of in treatment.
The WSJ also reported that Penny’s hopes now rest with a grand jury that could refuse to indict and, failing that, a regular jury that could also refuse to convict because the evidence doesn’t support the claim he acted recklessly. Meanwhile the national attention is making the Manhattan district attorney, Alvin Bragg, the public face of lawlessness and violence on America’s city streets.
I think that everything that the WSJ has stated does resonate with all law abiding citizens. I also believe that those ultra left, woke, progressive radicals who have embraced Marxism and are staging demonstrations on behalf of Neely are helping to dissuade others in the future from standing up with courage in the face of threats and possible violence on the subways. Because of people like them, good Samaritans like Penny will become extinct.
Sincerely
Clayton Devereaux
