On Saturday night, the New York Young Republican club hosted its 110th Annual gala in Manhattan.
As reported by the NY Post, the club’s black-tie event featured Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia), Donald Trump, Jr. and commentator Jack Posobiec. Bill Spadea, radio host and founder of the C ommon Sense Club, served as the event’s Master of Ceremonies, and Andrew Giuliani, former New York State Gubernatorial Candidate, was Toastmaster. Other illustrious special guests at the event included: Steve Bannon, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, James O’Keefe of Project Veritas, Former Advisor to President Trump Steve Cortes, former NYPD Commissioner Bernie Kerik, NYC Councilwoman Vickie Paladino, and congressman-elect George Santos of Nassau County.
Greene addressed the crowd by bashing “Joe Biden and the Democrats’ communist agenda”. A far-right conspiracy theorist, Greene had her committee assignments stripped by Democratic Speaker Nancy Pelosi following a series of controversial comments. “I want to tell you something, if Steve Bannon and I had organized that, we would have won. Not to mention, we would’ve been armed,” the controversial conservative congresswoman said, referring to her role in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol.
Greene took shots at numerous controversial issues including taking the opportunity to bash transgender-friendly policies in classrooms, lamenting how progressive firebrand AOC gets “secret service” protection, and even noted how “you can pick up a butt plug or a dildo at Target nowadays.” Greene preached unity among Republicans while touching upon what a GOP-controlled House can accomplish next year, pointing out that “we still don’t have the senate” or the “White House”. She also urged fellow Republicans to support former President Donald Trump’s 2024 bid, despite many in the party who want to nominate a different candidate.
“After the past two years of suffering under Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats and voting no solidly to Joe Biden and the Democrats communist agenda, I’m going to tell you I am fired up about 222 in the House,” she said. Greene received an award from the club, whose members range in age between 18 and 40. The Young Republican club’s NY chapter, founded in 1911, is the older and largest one in the country.
As per the Post, the next speaker at the event was Donald Trump, Jr., who similarly criticized the “woke” left while expressing joy about how House Republicans could treat Hunter Biden next year. Elon Musk has been releasing a hoard of data on how Twitter executives helped suppress the Hunter Biden story. “Holy s–t … if that was my laptop, I’d be in trouble,” said Trump Jr. “Hunter gets to sell art for 200 grand yesterday. So I was thinking about doing some art. I could do some finger painting like Hunter,” Trump added with a chuckle. He told the audience that Republicans need to speak out no matter how politically incorrect or it may sound in today’s atmosphere. “We need people to be out there unafraid,” Trump Jr. said.
