(TJV) Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Junior recently claimed that he might have been denied Secret Service protection by Alejandro Mayorkas, the Head of the Department of Homeland Security, due to his public criticism of the government’s handling of border security and immigration issues.

Kennedy expressed his concerns during an interview with Jimmy Dore, suggesting that Mayorkas’s decision not to grant him protection could be a result of political pettiness.

Kennedy admitted that he was vocal in criticizing Mayorkas’s decisions, and he speculated that this might have influenced the denial of Secret Service protection.

While Kennedy maintains his assertion, others have pointed out that there might not be a precedent to appoint Secret Service protection this far ahead of the election.

During the same interview, Kennedy discussed the state of the Border Patrol, stating that it is demoralized and not effectively defending the border. He claimed that the cartels now have significant control over border operations, with people from various countries worldwide paying substantial sums to these cartels to enter the United States illegally. Kennedy emphasized the importance of controlling the borders to ensure the survival of the nation.

During the interview, Kennedy noted “The Border Patrol is utterly demoralized. We met with Border Patrol … and they said ‘You know, we’re not defending the border anymore, we’re just processing people who are walking across and coming in.’”

He continued, “The cartels are now running everything at the border … you pay either $10,000 or $15,000 to the cartels. They fly from countries all over the world … Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, a lot of them from China, Nepal, Tibet, and a lot from countries in West Africa … it’s people from everywhere.”

Kennedy has vowed to drastically reduce illegal immigration, stressing that “no nation can survive unless it controls its borders.”

Meanwhile, The Washington Post reported a significant surge in illegal immigration, indicating a 30 percent increase in arrests along the Mexico border in July compared to the previous month. The preliminary figures showed over 130,000 arrests in July, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by immigration authorities.
