Numerous Democrats in the House of Representatives have signed a letter urging President Donald Trump to officially recognize a Palestinian state, according to a report from Axios.
Axios quoted the letter as describing American recognition of Palestine as “long overdue,” arguing that the “tragic” war between Israel and Gaza has underscored the need for Palestinian self-determination.
The letter also cited recent announcements from several U.S. allies — including the UK, France, and Canada — stating their intent to recognize Palestine in the near future.
“We encourage the governments of other countries that have yet to recognize Palestinian statehood, including the United States, to do so as well,” reads the letter, according to text reviewed by the outlet.
Rep. Al Green (D-TX), who signed the letter, told Axios he plans to introduce a bill in Congress declaring U.S. recognition of Palestine.
In July, Green voted against providing military aid to Israel. In a speech explaining his position, he said his vote was “against ethnic cleansing and genocide.”
Green also claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “doesn’t want peace, he wants all of Palestine.”
Shortly after the October 7th Hamas attacks, Green was one of nine Democrats who refused to condemn the deadliest slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust.
Green, along with Squad members Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and others, declined to sign a congressional resolution reiterating American support for Israel in the wake of the massacre.
Trump recently expressed outrage after Canada said it would recognize a Palestinian state at the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly in September.
Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the move would potentially derail ongoing trade negotiations between Canada and the U.S.

(I watched an interview of Michael Oren today describing his numerous conversations with Israeli soldiers returning from the Gaza front, where they described how Hamas was mixing with the Gazan crowds, stabbing them in the stomach and back, and coming out claiming they were killed by Israelis.)

According to The Guardian’s coverage of this story, the number of signatures on the letter was about a dozen.
That’s one dozen congressmen of about 435.
Heavens to Betsy! Pull the fire alarm and head for the hills!
Actually, it’s 12 out of 212 House Democrats. But you’re right, these are just the most vocal antisemites. Of course Axios is an extreme-left antisemite anti-Israel propagandist. Yet this story is fodder for all of the “Jewish” media commentators (witness antisemite Democrat New Republic, and Axios, above).
The real danger is Democrats, including Jews, supporting Muslim monster Mamdani.
