Dead Parkland Student Brought Back to Life in Creepy Anti-Gun PAC Commercial

A student who died during the Parkland school shooting in 2018 has been brought back to life, appearing in a new voter turnout ad produced by a gun-control group.

Te group called Change The Ref on their site says:

Change The Ref (CTR), was formed to empower our Future Leaders. CTR gives the kids of today the tools they need to be empowered to make changes to critical issues that affect our nation, through education, conversation, and activism. It uses urban art and nonviolent creative confrontation to expose the disastrous effects of the mass shooting pandemic. It also brings focus to the NRA’s corrupt maneuvers to buy lawmakers, while forcing solutions which are essential to healing mass shooting victims’ families’ lifelong grief. Change The Ref’s ultimate goal is to give the young generation of survivors and victims a disrupting voice to help lead the way to change – a more peaceful future. #NeverAgain.

Founded in the memory of their son Joaquin who was one of the 17 victims, Manuel and Patricia Oliver are committed to making sure that their son’s life and the lives of the other 16 victims are never forgotten and that real change happens to prevent future tragedies like this from happening ever again.

In the commercial, the latest technology is used to bring the Oliver’s son back to life, telling everyone to vote for candidates who support gun control.

YouTube viewers immediately pounced on this ad as exploitive and genuinely creepy. One must wonder if these poor parents who are deeply hurting over their son’s tragic death, were taken advantage of by political beasts willing to do anything to further their anti- 2nd amendment agenda.

I have no way to verify this, but I feel they were coaxed into doing this.  The creators of the commercial put words into a deceased teenager’s mouth, which he obviously never said.

One must marvel at the technology used in this production, however, I find it creepy and manipulative, it reeks of desperation, and will do nothing for their cause, except turn people off
