(TJV NEWS) Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville criticized Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) during a recent appearance on Politicon, where he was joined by Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA). Carville expressed frustration with what he described as divisive rhetoric from certain progressive figures, singling out Omar’s comments that he believes alienate a key portion of the electorate.

James Carville, a longtime Democratic political consultant best known for managing Bill Clinton’s successful 1992 presidential campaign, argued that political messaging attacking white male voters is counterproductive for the Democratic Party. Referencing voter demographics, Carville noted that white men make up approximately one-third of the electorate and said targeting them would be a strategic mistake.
“Lady, why don’t you just get out of the Democratic Party?” Carville said in reference to Omar. “Honestly, start your own movement.”
Carville elaborated:
“Let’s do the simple math. Probably 69%… maybe more… of people who vote in November are going to be white. Of that, 48% or more are going to be male. So that’s roughly a third of the electorate. Let’s just run against them — because that’s so goddamn smart. We don’t believe we ought to be running against white men — or any gender, ethnic group, race, religion, or anything else.”
Carville emphasized the need for unity within the Democratic Party and warned against rhetoric he feels could fracture support ahead of the 2024 election cycle.
As of publication, the video of Carville’s remarks had garnered over 32,000 views in three days.
