(TJV) President Joe Biden just told a man who lost his son in the 2018 Parkland school shooting to “sit down.” The father had some things to say to Biden during his speech on Monday that was focused on a bipartisan gun control law. 

Biden was trying to put a positive spin on his legislation, “Despite the naysayers, we can make meaningful progress on dealing with gun violence.” Biden said in footage of the speech posted to Twitter.

Manuel Oliver is the father whose sone, Joaquin, was among the 17 people killed in the Parkland mass shooting. He could be heard shouting in the background of Biden’s speech. 

Biden yelled back at the father,  “Sit down. You’ll hear what I have to say.” Oliver continued to shout back at the president, but Biden said, “Let me finish my comments. Let him talk. Let him talk.”

This is one of the first instances in almost 2 years of Biden in power the mainstream media has criticized Biden.
