(TJV NEWS) Former President Donald Trump is considering a bold shift in federal funding—diverting $3 billion in grants originally earmarked for Harvard University to support trade schools across the United States, as Breitbart first reported.
The proposal, which Trump announced Monday on Truth Social, comes amid ongoing criticism of Harvard for its handling of antisemitism on campus. “I am considering taking Three Billion Dollars of Grant Money away from a very antisemitic Harvard, and giving it to TRADE SCHOOLS all across our land,” Trump wrote. “What a great investment that would be for the USA, and so badly needed!!!”
This funding reassessment follows a series of steps by the Trump administration aimed at pressuring the Ivy League school, including moves to block it from enrolling foreign students and reexamining its tax-exempt status. Trump also demanded greater transparency from Harvard, urging the institution to disclose more information about its international student body.
As Breitbart pointed out, the university currently hosts nearly 6,800 foreign students, mostly in graduate programs, hailing from over 100 countries. The proposal to reroute these funds comes as Harvard faces intensifying scrutiny over its response to antisemitic incidents, with critics alleging the school has failed to adequately protect Jewish students.
The suggested reallocation would mark a dramatic shift in priorities—redirecting billions in research grants from one of the world’s wealthiest and most prestigious academic institutions to bolster vocational and technical education across the country
