(Daily  Caller) Election officials reported widespread voting machine problems in Pennsylvania’s heavily Republican Cambria and Bedford counties Tuesday, according to multiple reports.

“The Cambria County Board of Election[s] learned early this morning that a software malfunction in the County’s Electronic Voting System has prevented voters from scanning their ballots,” Cambria County Solicitor Ron Repak said in a statement, according to the New York Post.

Bedford County is also facing ballot scanning issues with its Electronic Voting System (EVS), the outlet reported.

Officials in both counties assured voters that their ballots would be placed in a secure lock box until they could be scanned and counted, according to WJAC, a local NBC affiliate. Cambria County’s Board of Elections filed a petition with the county court to extend voting hours from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., which the court approved.

The problems in Cambria County appear to be affecting multiple voting precincts, a woman named Ashley Miller, who said she is a county poll worker, said in a video posted on social media.

“This backup has been in place since we got the voting machines,” Miller said.

The voting issues appear to be causing long lines and mass confusion, particularly in Cambria County, where residents have shared videos of the chaos on social media. (Stream the Daily Caller’s Documentary ‘Rigged‘ HERE)

Former President Donald Trump won both counties in 2020, carrying Cambria with 68.1% of the vote compared to President Joe Biden’s 30.8%. He also won Bedford with 83.5% to 15.8%. (RELATED: 5 Key Bellwethers To Watch On Election Day)

While machines are down, Cambria County’s Election Board has set up separate express voting machines and is also accepting hand-marked ballots, Repak told the Post.
