New ICE Agent Video Shows Moments Before Fatal Minneapolis Shooting as Investigations Intensify
A newly released cellphone video recorded by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer involved in the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good offers the clearest view yet of the tense seconds leading up to the gunfire, as multiple investigations continue and political fallout grows.
As The Sun reported, the footage—obtained and published by Alpha News—shows the perspective of ICE agent Jonathan Ross as he approaches Good’s maroon Honda SUV during a confrontation in Minneapolis early Wednesday morning. Good, 37, was killed after Ross fired three shots as her vehicle moved forward.

According to The Sun, the video captures Ross circling the SUV while Good and her wife, Rebecca Good, confront him from close range. In the clip, Good appears calm at first, smiling and saying, “That’s fine dude. I’m not mad,” as the agent walks inches from her open driver’s side window. Rebecca Good, 40, can be heard yelling at the agent to “show his face,” while filming the encounter.
As reported by The Sun, other officers soon arrive and shout commands for Good to exit the vehicle. Rebecca Good attempts to open the locked passenger-side door before urging her wife to flee, shouting, “Drive, baby, drive.” Moments later, the SUV reverses, turns, and accelerates forward. Three gunshots are heard, followed by the vehicle speeding away and crashing into a parked car further down the street.
Bystander videos from the scene, also cited by The Sun, show Ross walking alone toward the crash site after the shooting. Good, a mother of three, died from her injuries.
Federal officials say the shooting was an act of self-defense. The Department of Homeland Security has claimed Good used her vehicle to charge toward officers, labeling the incident an act of “domestic terrorism.” Vice President JD Vance echoed that assessment after the video’s release, saying it showed agents’ lives were in danger, according to The Sun.
Local leaders have sharply disputed that characterization. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called the DHS explanation “bulls**t,” arguing the facts do not support the federal government’s conclusions, as The Sun reported.
Additional footage reviewed by investigators shows Good’s vehicle had been blocking the roadway for several minutes before the confrontation, a detail first reported by CNN. CCTV also captured an agent unsuccessfully attempting to open the vehicle door shortly before Good reversed and accelerated.
The shooting has sparked widespread protests across Minneapolis, prompting school closures and heightened security. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced the National Guard has been placed on standby to assist with public safety if needed, according to The Sun.
Meanwhile, multiple investigations are underway. The FBI is leading the federal probe, while Minnesota prosecutors have launched an independent review. Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said state officials may consider criminal charges against the ICE agent but need access to evidence controlled by federal authorities, the Minnesota Star Tribune reported.
Legal experts interviewed by The Sun said federal charges against the agent are unlikely, but state prosecutors could still pursue homicide or manslaughter charges if they find probable cause. They also noted that, had Good survived, she could have faced charges related to assault or obstruction.
Good’s wife described her as a woman of faith who radiated “pure love,” and a GoFundMe for the family has raised more than $1.5 million, according to The Sun.
As new video continues to surface and investigations move forward, the case remains a flashpoint in the national debate over law enforcement, use of force, and federal immigration operations.
