(TJV NEWS) Federal law enforcement is urgently targeting a dangerous online cult known as “764,” which has been luring children through gaming platforms like Roblox and Minecraft and coercing them into horrific acts, including self-harm, animal abuse, and even suicide.
In an exclusive report by ABC 7 San Francisco, officials detailed how the group manipulates young victims through threats, blackmail, and psychological control. One mother described how her 15-year-old daughter was groomed by the cult, forced to carve usernames into her skin, and nearly driven to suicide after being ordered to kill a family pet. The girl was sent a graphic suicide manual and was only saved after the situation escalated to the point that a SWAT team had to intervene.

FBI San Francisco Special Agent in Charge Sanjay Vimani confirmed that the bureau is conducting over 250 investigations into 764, with every one of its 55 field offices participating. Recent arrests have been made, including two high-ranking members of the group in Greece, who face charges of child sexual exploitation and possession of abuse material.
A disturbing video from one suspect showed him bragging, “I have little children cut themselves for me… I’m part of a cult, like a really bad people cult.”
Researcher Becca Spinks, who has been tracking 764’s digital footprint, said the group not only encourages self-harm and abuse but also incites acts of violence, including school shootings. She praised recent law enforcement actions but warned that more needs to be done as others may rise to take the place of arrested leaders.
At a press conference this week, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel announced the results of Operation Restore Justice—a coordinated effort that led to the arrest of 205 child predators in just five days. Bondi called the 764 cult “the darkest of the dark,” urging parents to closely monitor their children’s online activity. “These kids think they’re talking to other kids online,” she said. “They’re not. They’re talking to monsters.”

Patel made it clear that law enforcement will not stop. “If you harm our children, we will hunt you down. There is no place we won’t go, no cage we won’t put you in.”
The crackdown on 764 underscores a growing threat: predators are hiding behind innocent-looking apps and games, and law enforcement says awareness is now a matter of survival for families
