Pizzeria Demolished that Featured Holocaust Survivor Kidnapped by Hamas in Disgusting Ad
Edited by: TJVNews.com
In a deeply unsettling turn of events, a pizzeria in Judea and Samaria found itself at the center of a storm of controversy and outrage when it posted an advertisement that used a photograph to mock an elderly Israeli woman who had been taken hostage by Hamas terrorists during the October 7th attack on Israel, as was reported by the Post. The restaurant, located in the Arab town of Huwara, faced swift and severe repercussions for their insensitive marketing campaign.
The photograph that sparked this controversy featured an elderly woman, a Holocaust survivor, in her wheelchair during the Hamas assault. The advertisement, which was posted on Facebook, depicted the woman holding a pizza and was accompanied by the phrase “You are welcome” along with several laughing emojis, according to the Post report. The insensitivity of the ad did not go unnoticed and soon caught the attention of the media and the Israeli government.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, upon learning of the offensive advertisement, issued an order to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to demolish the pizzeria, as was noted in the Post report. The situation escalated as Israeli settlers in Huwara gathered around the restaurant, calling for its destruction. Reports indicated that Israeli forces were closely monitoring events not only in Judea and Samaria (also known as the West Bank) but also in East Jerusalem and along the northern border.
The backdrop to this controversy is a recent and shocking attack by Hamas on Israel, which occurred a week prior to the demolition of the pizzeria. The Post report indicated that this heinous act of barbarism claimed the lives of more than 1,300 Israelis, including babies and children, and resulted in over 3000 severely wounded. The brutality and cruelty of this attack stunned the world, leading to a heightened sense of tension in the region.
The IDF arrived at the pizza parlor shortly after the controversy erupted, according to Israeli news reports. The Post report said that they not only ordered the immediate closure of the restaurant but also detained its owner, citing alleged support of terrorist activities as the reason for their action. The owners of the pizzeria, however, claimed that someone else had posted the offensive advertisement without their knowledge and expressed their regret through a public apology on their Facebook page.
“We are against harming men and women and just want to earn a living with dignity and live in peace with everyone,” their statement read, as was reported by the Post. “We are very sorry to the members of our family and others who were hurt.”
