Iran Developing Hydrogen-Capable Nuclear Warheads at Secret “Rainbow Site,” Says Dissident Group NCRI

(TJV NEWS) Iran is actively developing enhanced nuclear warheads, including hydrogen bomb components, at a covert military site disguised as a chemical plant, according to intelligence presented Thursday by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), an exiled Iranian opposition group. As reported by Breitbart News, the revelations mark a major escalation in Tehran’s nuclear weapons program, which the group warns is nearing thermonuclear capability.

At a Washington, D.C. press conference, senior NCRI officials unveiled details of a facility known as the “Rainbow Site,” officially listed as a chemical plant operated by Diba Energy Sina. Spanning approximately 2,500 acres in the Eyvanaki region southeast of Tehran, the site is allegedly part of Iran’s clandestine nuclear development efforts operated under the SPND (Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research), a body supervised by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The NCRI, credited for previous exposés of secret nuclear facilities later confirmed by international inspectors, claimed that the Rainbow Site focuses on the extraction and production of tritium — a radioactive isotope critical for boosting the explosive yield of implosion-type nuclear weapons and a foundational component of hydrogen bombs.

Satellite images and on-the-ground intelligence confirm that the site has been active since at least 2013, operating under heavy military security and deception tactics. Locals are reportedly told the facility is either a paint or conventional missile factory. The nearby Qadir long-range radar system, operated by IRGC Aerospace units, further points to the site’s strategic military significance.

Alireza Jafarzadeh, NCRI’s Deputy Director in Washington, stated that the facility reflects Iran’s advancement beyond its discontinued AMAD Plan — the nuclear project halted in 2003 under international scrutiny — and toward the deployment of “boosted” warheads capable of striking U.S. bases and European targets with 2,000-mile-range ballistic missiles.

The group named several Iranian front companies shielding the operation under the PETSAR Group, chaired by IRGC Brig. Gen. Naser Maleki, a sanctioned figure with deep ties to Iran’s missile program. Notable scientists involved reportedly include Dr. Ebrahim Haji Ebrahimi and Hadi Zaker Khatir, both of whom have longstanding connections to Iran’s nuclear research institutions.

Soona Samsami, U.S. representative of the NCRI, condemned the international community for its failure to act decisively. She argued that Iran’s estimated $2 trillion investment in its nuclear program comes at the cost of the nation’s infrastructure and well-being, stressing that the true solution lies not in military conflict but in the empowerment of Iran’s internal resistance.

“There is no need for boots on the ground or appropriation of money,” Samsami declared. “The world should acknowledge the people’s right to confront the IRGC.”

The NCRI called for United Nations snapback sanctions and warned that appeasement would enable continued deception. They urged the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to demand full dismantlement of the site, not just inspection access.

In a statement to Breitbart News, Jafarzadeh reiterated the group’s call for the global community to recognize the Iranian people’s right to overthrow the current regime. “This is the only assured way to eliminate the nuclear threat — along with the regime’s proxies and its sponsorship of terrorism,” he said.

This latest NCRI disclosure echoes their historic revelations of the covert nuclear sites at Natanz, Arak, and Fordow — findings later validated by international monitors. In December, the group revealed Tehran was secretly intensifying the development of nuclear detonators in other undisclosed facilities.

The report emerges at a time of heightened volatility in the region. Just days ago, IRGC commander Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami threatened to “open the gates of Hell” on both the U.S. and Israel. Meanwhile, Iranian state media unveiled a new generation of solid-fueled ballistic missiles positioned across the country, threatening to target American interests “wherever they are” in the event of war.

The NCRI’s warnings underscore growing fears that Iran is accelerating its nuclear weapons ambitions under the cover of strategic misdirection and diplomatic stalling.
