More than two dozen people became victims of NYC’s surging gun violence over the Fourth of July weekend — including a 33-year-old man who was allegedly shot at point-blank range, in addition to several violent slashings and an attempted strangulation, reminiscent of a scene from a horror movie.
The NY Post reported: a 33-year-old man who was allegedly shot at point-blank range, police said. The fatal victim was one of at least 26 people shot across 21 separate incidents between Friday and Sunday — with three more shootings reported early Monday, police said. The man died after being blasted in the head and chest just before 10 p.m. Sunday outside 830 East 172nd St.
10 minutes earlier, a 26-year-old man was shot in the Bushwick Houses in Williamsburg, police said. He was treated at Bellevue Hospital and was expected to recover.
Shootings were not the only violence seen around NYC in the days leading up to July 4th and after. Early Saturday morning a woman was brutally slashed in the streets of Times Square.
The 23-year-old tourist was with a friend leaving a restaurant around 4:35 a.m. on July 3rd when the suspect began catcalling her, according to police.
The victim’s friend told the man to back off, but he followed them instead, police said. He then snuck up behind the victim on West 46th Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues and slashed her across the chest and right hand with a sharp object, according to the NYPD.
In another horrifying incident, early Saturday afternoon on a 2 train in the Bronx, a 31 yar old male, ended up having to get 18 stitches, after a maniac randomly slashed him on the face and neck. The attacker is still on the loose.
“This slashing took place in the middle of the day, with families traveling to have a day out, people heading to work, on a fairly crowded train, a random slashing, it’s unbelievable, and the media buried this story, I’m getting a car, I’m finished riding the 2 train, it could have been me”, a 45-year woman from the Bronx told TJV.
NYC subways have become a blood bath reminiscent of the violent slasher film “ Maniac” from the 1980’s. Earlier in the year, a psychopath, slashed 5 victims on the A train line, killing 4.
Another alarming incident took place on City Island, which is normally a very safe area in the Bronx. A white gloved attacker dragged a woman into the woods and tried to strangle her, her screams interrupted the attempted broad daylight murder. There was another report a few days earlier of a man wearing white gloves, attempting to strangle another random victim.
Again, these scenes sound like something right out of movie. However, as bad as thing appear in NYC, Mayor Lightfoot’s Chicago, saw over one hundred shootings and 16 deaths over July 4th weekend. The openly racist mayor blamed former President Trump for Chicago’s violence.
