President Donald J. Trump is not ready to concede in the 2020 presidential election. As reported by the NY Post, the President is planning to hold campaign-style rallies. At these events he will expose obituaries of Americans whose votes were cast in the presidential election despite their death, as per a campaign official. Axios first reported the planned rallies, which will highlight the Trump campaign’s legal effort to show how the election was stolen, by citing specific examples of voter fraud. The Trump team hopes to gain support for a recount, by presenting evidence that Democratic Presidential hopeful Joe Biden’s leads are allegedly based on “illegal votes”.
“These would be grassroots rallies, as we’ve already seen pop up in a variety of states since Election Day, organic shows of support like the tractor and boat parades have been all year. These is no plan for the President to hold rallies,” Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh said in a statement, stressing that the President himself is not expected to make appearances. Specific dates and locations were not yet announced. The Post reported, however, that the Trump team will focus their efforts on the critically important swing states of Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania.
On Saturday, Biden declared his victory in the 2020 presidential election after claiming the must-win state of Pennsylvania. He has since begun building his transition team, despite President Trump’s refusal to concede.
On Sunday, Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani said he intends to file up to 10 lawsuits, claiming election fraud and questioning the legitimacy of the results. “At this point, it would be wrong for him to concede,” the former NYC mayor said on a Fox News morning show. “There is strong evidence that this was an election that in at least three or four states, and possible 10, it was stolen. In other words, it was based on false votes. Now, you can’t let an election go into history without challenging that”.
Speaking on ‘Sunday Morning Futures’, Mr. Giuliani vowed that voters would be shown evidence of the alleged election fraud this week as the lawsuits come out. “Right now we have one [lawsuit],” he said. “We have two that are being drafted, and the potential is 10. We haven’t investigated all the rest of those states. … You want an estimate? By the end of the week, we’ll have four or five.”
