Victoria Ruiz, a 36-year-old public defender in Manhattan, recently gained notoriety after being captured on video tearing down posters depicting hostages from the Israel-Hamas conflict in New York City. The incident shed light on her dual life as a punk rock band member signed to a prominent indie label and her tendentious political beliefs.

On Tuesday, however, Fox News reported that Ruiz has tendered her resignation and a representative for the New York County Defender Services confirmed this matter to the news outlet.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, the New York County Defender Services said that Victoria Ruiz, 36, resigned “effective immediately.”

Fox News also reported that Ruiz came under fire after a viral video, posted by StopAntisemitism on X, showed her tearing down the posters of the missing hostages from the Israel-Hamas war.

“Why are you taking down pictures of missing children,” a person in the video repeatedly asks Ruiz.

Aside from her role as a public defender, Ruiz is the lead singer of The Downtown Boys, a five-piece punk band with a horn section. Rolling Stone once hailed them as “America’s most exciting punk band.” Formed in Rhode Island in 2011, the band places politics at the forefront of their music and is known for their energetic live performances. Rolling Stone was once a great magazine, today it is a worthless rag focused on woke garbage.

The Downtown Boys are signed to Sub Pop Records, a legendary indie label from Seattle known for launching the careers of iconic bands like Nirvana and Soundgarden. The label’s current roster includes renowned acts such as Nirvana, Built to Spill, and The Shins.

One of the notable aspects of The Downtown Boys’ music is their commitment to addressing political and social issues. Their songs often delve into topics such as America’s historical slave trade and its connections to modern corporations, landlords, and law enforcement. The perspective of  drug addled ignorant communist gutter trash; nobody cares about this unknown amateurish band, except for fellow losers.

Their dreadful performances at live shows have garnered a tiny but dedicated following of fans who actively participate in moshing and injecting dope into their veins, most of them deaf, because nobody with working ears can bare to listen to boring, outdated punk riffs set to stupid communist lyrics.

Although the band has not released a new album since 2017, they embarked on a tour in September that took them to various locations, including Bushwick, Brooklyn, as well as international destinations such as France, Italy, The Netherlands, and Germany. However, after the video of Ruiz’s poster removal incident surfaced, detractors voiced their criticisms on the band’s Facebook page. Often in entertainment you are elevated if you push an Anti-American agenda, while actual musicians struggle, garage is elevated.

The organization Stop Antisemitism publicly called out Ruiz’s actions, leading to a debate in online comments. Some questioned her involvement in the band, while others demanded accountability for her actions.

When contacted for comment, neither The Downtown Boys nor Sub Pop Records immediately responded to the inquiries.

In the broader context of the Israel-Hamas conflict, it is estimated that about 235 hostages, including numerous children, are currently being held by Hamas. These individuals were taken during a coordinated attack by Hamas on Israel in early October, resulting in the deaths of approximately 1,400 people.
