The situation at Randall’s Island tent city has reached concerning levels, with migrants camping outside engaging in various activities, from selling burgers to drugs, NY Post reported.

This comes in the aftermath of a fatal stabbing that prompted Mayor Eric Adams to announce a comprehensive review of shelter security.

A group of asylum-seekers, previously expelled due to exceeding the city residency limit, has set up camp outside the island’s 2,000-bed site. Despite efforts by Parks Department officials to dismantle the encampment, the migrants persistently return, leading to a frustrated parks worker admonishing them for not taking steps to improve their situation.

The plea falls on deaf ears, and soon after, the rogue group sets up folding tables, using small propane burners to cook burgers, which they then sell along with coffee, hot chocolate, loose cigarettes, and rolled marijuana joints. This open-air peddling highlights the out-of-control conditions at the tent city.

The dire situation escalated over the weekend when a 24-year-old man was fatally stabbed by a group inside a dining area. In response to this tragedy, Mayor Eric Adams announced plans to enhance security measures at the sprawling site and others. Metal detectors and security cameras will be installed, and a comprehensive analysis of security, along with increased training, will be undertaken.

The alleged killer, Moises Coronado, 27, faces murder and gang assault charges. The criminal complaint details a confrontation in the cafeteria tent, where Coronado and at least two others chased and fatally stabbed Dafren Canizalez. The altercation reportedly began after Coronado said something to Canizalez’s girlfriend.

Adams emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that the city would utilize visual technology and implement a color-coded scheme to break down locations. The cost of security at shelters, already at $25,000 a day, underscores the magnitude of the issue.

Eric Adams weak leadership is fascinating to watch; he knows having thousands upon thousands of undocumented, totally illegal aliens in the city is wrong, but instead of taking real action, he is attacking the Governor of Texas, and trying to sue bus companies, who ship in the law breakers. Gov. Abbot has shipped many illegals out of Texas and into “sanctuary NY” but the Biden regime itself is shipping thousands upon thousands of more migrants, quietly and clandestinely when they think nobody is paying attention.

Adams complains and admits the situation is out of control but has taken no actual action to stop the insanity, except for promising tax hikes. Far left, extremist, policies are crushing NYC, Adams is too scared of the  extremist, insurrectionist, far left, Democrat socialist branch of his own party.to actually do anything.

Mayor Adams expressed his dismay at the tragedy, highlighting the irony of someone pursuing the American dream losing their life in such a horrific manner. The stabbing follows another incident at a migrant intake center in the East Village.
