A school resource officer in Westchester County has been pulled from her post after making vile social-media posts mocking the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the New York Post first reported.
Officer Tanisha Blanche, who was assigned to Somers Intermediate School in northern Westchester, was removed from her position after school officials learned of the disturbing posts she made on Instagram, according to the Post. The comments surfaced just days after Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was gunned down during his American Comeback Tour stop at Utah Valley University.
In screenshots obtained by the Post, Blanche appeared to revel in Kirk’s murder. One post on her account read, “Well that white sniper was over qualified when he put that hole in your neck hunni bunni.” Another taunting message over a video clip of Kirk declared, “Welp! That didn’t end well buddy.”
In a third post, Blanche tried to justify her comments by lashing out at Kirk’s supporters, writing: “Why yall don’t have that same energy for the school shooting that took place yesterday, but yall crying over the man that was ok with gun violence…. Make it make sense.”
As the Post reported, Blanche quickly made her Instagram account private after the screenshots began circulating, but the damage was already done. Somers school officials confirmed that she had been pulled from her assignment, and local police were notified immediately.
Somers Superintendent of Schools Adam Bronstein sent a letter to parents explaining the decision, citing Blanche’s disturbing conduct. “The nature of the posts glorifies violence, which is completely unacceptable for someone entrusted with the safety of students and staff members,” Bronstein wrote, according to the Post.
Bronstein emphasized that school safety remained “our most sacred and important obligation” and said he was working directly with law enforcement to ensure there was no disruption to the district’s school resource officer program. He added that the Westchester County Police Department had confirmed a replacement officer would be in place by Monday.
The Westchester County Police Department itself did not respond to requests for comment, the Post noted.
Kirk, a married father of two and a rising star in the MAGA movement, was fatally shot in the neck on Sept. 10 while addressing students at Utah Valley University. Police have identified 22-year-old Tyler Robinson as the alleged shooter, who is expected to face aggravated murder charges. President Donald Trump has publicly called for Robinson to face the death penalty.
The Post reported that Kirk’s assassination has already sparked an outpouring of grief and anger nationwide — but also, disturbingly, a handful of public figures who appeared to celebrate his death. Just days earlier, the Post revealed that a New Jersey nurse was suspended after confronting a hospital doctor who allegedly “cheered” Kirk’s assassination.
Blanche now joins that list. Once trusted to help protect children in a suburban school district, she is instead out of a job for publicly mocking a political assassination — an act that stunned parents and drew sharp rebuke from school leaders.
