NY Rep. Ritchie Torres’ Office Vandalized on Xmas Day with Bloody Baby Jesus Doll; Cites Anti-Israel Extremists
Edited by: TJVNews.com
South Bronx Rep. Ritchie Torres, a staunch defender of Israel, discovered that on Christmas Day, his office has been vandalized by anti-Israel extremists from the pro-Hamas camp, as was reported by the New York Post. A baby Jesus Christ doll that was covered with blood was found at his office. The outspoken congressman saw this horrifying incident as an intimidation tactic by his ideological adversaries due to his unwavering support for Israel.
“On Christmas Day, anti-Israel extremists vandalized my Bronx Office with red paint, symbolizing blood,” Torres said in a post on X, according to the Post report. “Covered in ‘blood’ is a doll meant to symbolize Jesus, whom the vandals describe as a ‘Palestinian child messiah.’”
“The escalation in intimidation and incitement against Members of Congress feels like it is heading in a dangerous direction,” he added, as was indicated in the Post report. “I, for one, will not be intimidated.”
The unsettling message mirrored a social media post on Christmas Day from “Squad Member” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also from New York. She drew a parallel between the situation facing civilians in Gaza during Israel’s war against the terrorist Hamas organization and how she believed Jesus Christ was treated as a “Palestinian” by Jewish authorities in ancient times.
“In the story of Christmas, Christ was born in modern-day Palestine under the threat of a government engaged in a massacre of innocents,” the far-left lawmaker said on her Instagram account, the Post said.
“He was part of a targeted population being indiscriminately killed to protect an unjust leader’s power. Mary and Joseph, displaced by violence and forced to flee, became refugees in Egypt with a newborn waiting to one day return home,” she added.
“Thousands of years later, right-wing forces are violently occupying Bethlehem as similar stories unfold for today’s Palestinians, so much so that the Christian community in Bethlehem has canceled this year’s Christmas Eve celebrations out of both fear for their safety and respect.”
Torres has been one of the most outspoken Democrats in favor of providing military assistance to Israel as it fights to eliminate Hamas.
The Post report also said that the conflict has divided the Democratic coalition, with more now saying they sympathize with the plight of the Palestinian people than with Israelis, according to a recent Wall Street Journal poll.
Rep. Torres has consistently condemned anti-Semitic rhetoric and displays, particularly targeting the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) for their weak apology after an event where protesters burned Israeli flags and displayed a swastika, as was noted in the Post report.
The rally occurred one day after Hamas’ Oct. 7 invasion of Israel, during which the jihadists killed more than 1,200 people, mostly civilians and including 33 American citizens. Roughly 240 were also taken hostage back to Gaza.
“Something is rotten in the state of America. When the institutional leaders in our country cannot condemn the cold-blooded murder of Israeli children and civilians with moral clarity, one must ask: what kind of society are we becoming?” Torres also wrote in an op-ed for The Post that month.
“The time has come to confront not only the symptoms but the disease: a Democratic Socialist industrial complex that indoctrinates young Americans with an anti-Israel hatred so virulent that it renders them indifferent to the deadliest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust,” he added, the Post report added.
The DSA’s apology, which denounced violence but blamed Israel as the “root cause,” drew strong criticism from Torres, who described the group as “despicable, detestable, disgraceful, and disgraced.” According to the information provided in the Post report, in the aftermath of Hamas’ invasion of Israel on October 7, Torres questioned the moral clarity of institutional leaders who failed to condemn the cold-blooded murder of Israeli children and civilians.
He identified a Democratic Socialist industrial complex indoctrinating young Americans with anti-Israel hatred. Torres also denounced the spread of anti-Semitism on American college campuses, where some defend the actions of Hamas, according to the Post report. The conflict initiated by Hamas’ surprise terror attack has led to significant casualties, with more than 20,000 reported deaths in the densely populated Gaza Strip. The Hamas-controlled Gaza Ministry of Health’s reporting doesn’t distinguish between civilian and terrorist deaths, and Hamas often uses civilians as human shields, according to the Post report.
A senior Israel Defense Forces official confirmed a ratio of roughly two civilians killed for every dead Hamas terrorist.
The group’s surprise terror attack prompted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to declare war on Hamas, launching airstrikes against its commanders and a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip.
