New York-Presbyterian has sealed a deal to buy an office complex in White Plains for $83.5 million.  As reported by Crain’s NY, the health care system plans to build a multispecialty outpatient care facility there.

The purchase went through on March 1st, for the 373,000-square-foot WestPark office complex on Westchester Avenue, as per the sales deed filed with the County Clerk’s Office in Westchester.  On Tuesday, New York-Presbyterian announced in a press release that it will build a new medical office with Ambulatory care, offering adult and pediatric care from Columbia Doctors clinical teams. The state-of-the-art, multi-specialty ambulatory care facility will offer primary and preventive care services to the communities of Westchester County. It will also include centers of excellence in women’s health, cancer care and neuroscience as well as wellness services and resources.  Facilities will include imaging, endoscopy suites, exam and diagnostic rooms, and ambulatory procedure rooms.

“NewYork-Presbyterian is proud to be expanding access to our world-class care across Westchester,” said Dr. Steven J. Corwin, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian. “We understand the importance of having high-quality, comprehensive health care services available close to where you live and work. We look forward to continuing to provide the best care to our patients and neighbors in Westchester.”

As per Crain’s, the purchased property is a 25-acre campus at 1111-1129 Westchester Avenue in White Plains. The property includes two 4-story buildings and features a fitness center, charging stations for electric vehicles and a free shuttle service to nearby Metro-North Railroad stations, as per a statement by commercial real estate firm CBRE, on Wednesday.

NewYork-Presbyterian currently operates three hospitals in the county, namely:  NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital, NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital and the NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health Center.  It also partners with a broad network of Columbia Doctors medical group practices in the region.

NewYork-Presbyterian is known as a leader in medical education, and as one of the country’s most comprehensive, integrated academic healthcare systems, boasting 10 hospitals across the Greater New York area, as well as close to 200 primary and specialty care clinics and medical groups.  NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital was ranked the #1 hospital in New York and the #7 hospital in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals rankings.

Representatives from New York-Presbyterian and CBRE declined to further comment about the new medical office or financial terms of the deal.
