(TJV) Oh, how utterly heartwarming it is to witness the noble efforts of a “collective” of compassionate souls who’ve set up a GoFundMe page for their dear departed friend.
Yes, the murdered liberal activist, Ryan Thoresen Carson, who tragically met his untimely end in a manner that could only be described as a fitting tribute to his beliefs in community care and justice.

Carson was stabbed to death at 3:50 am on Monday in New York’s Bedfort-Stuyvesant neighborhood, as he and his girlfriend were returning from a Long Island wedding. They encountered an enraged young man who was kicking over parked mopeds and scooters before turning his rage on Carson, asking, “What the f*** are you looking at? I’ll kill you!”
In video that captured the crime, Carson be heard repeatedly telling his assailant to “chill.” Carson was stabbed multiple times, including a fatal strike to his heart.
Rather than bothering themselves with mundane matters like funeral expenses, this enlightened group has embarked on a mission to alleviate their profound grief by raising funds for something far more important: taking “time off of work.”
Because, of course, what better way to honor the memory of a fallen comrade than by asking for a vacation fund? I mean, who needs a funeral when you can have a week at the beach, right?
Some donors, in their infinite wisdom, are generously contributing just to share their scathing opinions.
Zero Hedge reported: as of Thursday night, the GoFundMe page reflected more than 1,300 donations totaling $69,579. However, some small donations have been made by people paying for the opportunity to condemn the group for using Ryan’s death to create a time-off fund.
$5-donor highlights:
- “It’s abhorrent for someone to use the MURDER (not “loss” or “tragedy”) of her boyfriend, and his life’s work and reputation, to manipulate people to give her loads of cash. His body was barely even cold.”
- “I donated $5 because it was the minimum but I wanted to say this: you people are disgusting, depraved ghouls for profiting off of this man’s death.”
But don’t worry, the GoFundMe page assures us that Ryan’s radical principles of community care and dismantling profit-centered lives will live on, thanks to their vacation fund. Because, clearly, taking time off work is the most effective way to champion these noble ideals.
In the end, it’s heartwarming to know that Ryan’s legacy will be remembered not for his advocacy or activism but for the collective vacation fund established in his name. After all, who wouldn’t want their life’s work to be reduced to a GoFundMe getaway? Ah, the irony of it all.
