A Diamond District jeweler caught on camera being brutally beaten during a chaotic brawl says the violent confrontation stemmed from a customer allegedly being ripped off — and he’s now blasting his rivals as jealous frauds who pushed the dispute to a breaking point. The incident, which unfolded in Manhattan’s famed jewelry hub, quickly went viral after graphic footage spread across social media.

As The New York Post first reported, TraxNYC owner Maksud Agadjani, 39, claims the fight erupted after he confronted rival jewelers George Akay, 46, and Freddy Akay, 42, over a $22,000 diamond bracelet that was allegedly misrepresented to a customer as a TraxNYC product. Agadjani said the customer approached him on New Year’s Eve demanding answers, believing the bracelet had come from his well-known shop.

According to the New York Post, Agadjani said he immediately refunded the customer out of pocket to protect his reputation. “I gave the guy his money,” he said, adding that the situation left him furious. Agadjani, whose high-profile clientele includes YouTube star MrBeast and rappers Kodak Black and Busta Rhymes, said disputes like this have happened before with the Akay brothers.

“These were a family of f–king losers that were jealous that I was a successful jeweler,” Agadjani told the Post, claiming the brothers repeatedly tried to steal his clients by falsely implying they were affiliated with his brand. He said he had warned them multiple times to stop, but they ignored him.

The tension boiled over when Agadjani walked just a few feet from his own booth to confront the brothers at Akay Diamonds, located in the same shared space on West 47th Street, the New York Post reported. When they allegedly refused to reimburse him for the refund he issued, Agadjani said he decided to publicly call them out.

“I decided to expose them for the frauds they are, and they wanted to kill me for it,” he told the Post, referring to the shocking videos he later posted online.

Footage shows Agadjani storming into the Akay booth, slamming the bracelet onto the counter and screaming profanities as stunned customers looked on. As first reported by the New York Post, he can be heard shouting, “Where’s my f—ing money?” while accusing the brothers of using his name to scam buyers. In one clip, he waves a receipt in front of one of the brothers before security intervenes.

Another video captures the moment the confrontation turns violent, with one of the Akay brothers allegedly spitting in Agadjani’s face. Seconds later, a full-scale brawl erupts. Agadjani claimed that Freddy Akay began strangling him while George Akay struck him in the head with a heavy scale.

Agadjani said he believes he would have been killed if his employees hadn’t rushed in to pull him free. “If they never came, I would have been strangled to death,” he told the New York Post.
