(JNS) More than 150,000 accounts have viewed a video on X that is said to show the collapse of Chabad headquarters in New York. In fact, the video shows the site of a fatal building collapse, in which a construction worker was killed, some 4.5 miles away in Borough Park.
“Breaking: 60 foot New York tunnels under Chabad synagogue are collapsing. Emergency crews rush to stabilize the situation,” wrote Sulaiman Ahmed, an investigative journalist, to his nearly 375,000 followers.
In fact, the building collapse took place not at 770 Eastern Parkway, the Brooklyn, N.Y. headquarters of the Chabad-Lubvatich movement, but in Borough Park, some 4.5 miles away.

Earlier in the month, police were called to the Chabad headquarters when “young agitators” sought to disrupt repair on unauthorized tunnels on the site.
The video of the building collapse on Friday appeared to show Orthodox Jews in the vicinity of the building.
