New Hyde Park, New York, Friday, January 2, 2026 – Local police and fire
departments and the Parker Jewish Institute presented the second annual “Sea of
Lights” and Times-Square-style Ball-Drop celebration on Wednesday, December 31,
2025, at the Parker campus.

This festive event made New Year’s Eve special for Parker’s residents, patients and
their families as well as Parker team members. The joyful occasion was highlighted by
an in-house-built ball that outshined last year’s. Members of local fire departments
contributed to the Sea of Lights celebration. After the ball drop, the outdoor merriment
continued at Parker with refreshments and live music.

“The ‘Sea of Light’ celebration gives our residents and patients an opportunity to come
together and enjoy a shared sense of community,” said Michael N. Rosenblut, President
and CEO of Parker Jewish Institute. “Like many programs at Parker, this event
promotes positivity and connection, which support overall well-being. We also want to
recognize our first responders, not only on New Year’s Eve, but all year long. Their
