A report from CBS in Denver revealed that authorities were counting any dead people who tested positive for coronavirus in the last 30 days as “deaths among cases” – even if they really died from shootings.
Coroner Brenda Brock told local media “two of their five deaths related to COVID-19 were people who died of gunshot wounds.”
Coroner Brenda Bock of Grand County, Colorado has claimed of their five total deaths attributed to the coronavirus were really deaths as a result of gunshot wounds.
CBS Denver reported:
Bock says because they tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 30 days, they were classified as “deaths among cases.”
“It’s absurd that they would even put that on there,” she said. “Would you want to go to a county that has really high death numbers? Would you want to go visit that county because they are contagious? You know I might get it, and I could die if all of a sudden one county has a high death count. We don’t have it, and we don’t need those numbers inflated.”
The state health department says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention requires them to report people who’ve died with COVID-19 in their systems because it’s crucial for public health surveillance.
Colorado provides death data related to COVID-19 in two ways:
-
Deaths due to COVID-19:
-
This is based on CDC coding of death certificates where COVID-19 is listed as the cause of death or a significant condition contributing to death.
-
-
Deaths among COVID-19 cases:
-
This reflects people who died with COVID-19, but COVID-19 may not have been the cause of death listed on the death certificate
-
This is not just a Colorado procedure, they are required by the CDC to put COVID on a death certificate, even if someone was shot !!
A coroner happened to make a big deal out of this and the local CBS affiliate ran with the story.
This is nothing new. It makes sense to identify the person as a positive, but to include it with virus deaths is highly contentious.
Nationwide, the CDC has been counting deaths from COVID as individuals who died from COVID alone, or COVID with other underlying comorbidities. In recent crunching of the numbers, it was discovered that over 90% of COVID deaths were individuals whose pre-existing illness combined with the COVID virus killed them.
This is important to understand, for when the TV flashes giant and frightening numbers such as 3000 died in one day from COVID, that number indicates COVID alone deaths, victim’s with comorbidities and COVID, and one’s who died from other causes (gunshot, injury) who were positive with the virus.
This is not pointed out by The Jewish Voice to somehow minimalize the seriousness of COVID, but rather to report the pandemic from an honest perspective.
How many people died from totally unrelated events, car accidents, fatal injuries, gunshots, etc, who just happened to have been virus-positive? What about someone with the COVID antibodies, who died in a car accident? Does that count as a virus causality?
What will it take for the media and the government to give us an honest look at the pandemic?
