Gigi Hadid’s star has been descending rapidly after she accused Israel of rape, torture and abduction. Her Instagram followers have gone from 79.1 million to 79 million a total loss of 121,050. While her beau Bradley Cooper makes his rounds on the awards circuit to garner his first Oscar as Leonard Bernstein in Netflix’s “Maestro” Gigi is desperately seeking to salvage her modeling career along with preventing Cooper’s chances at an Oscar from free-falling. If Cooper wins the Oscar for portraying an Israel-loving Bernstein will he arrive to the Golden Globe and Academy Awards with Israel hating Gigi? Even if he attends, as he normally does with his mother Gloria, the big elephant in the room will be his Palestinian girlfriend’s whereabouts. He will also have to answer as to his choice of an obtrusive prosthetic nose to depict Bernstein-a symbol of Nazi propaganda often called “Jewface.”

Cooper appeared jubilant at the November 27th Gotham Awards held in New York City ready to accept the Leonard Bernstein tribute without a care in the world despite Gigi’s claim two days earlier that Israel is the only country in the world “that keeps children as prisoners of war”. The absurdity of this claim is highlighted by the 137 hostages remaining in Gaza including redheaded 10-month-old Kfir Bibas whose innocent smiling face graces thousands of “Bring Them Home Now” posters as it appears he and his four-year-old brother, Ariel, along with mom, Shiri, were murdered by Hamas. Gigi’s apology was equally shameful.

While everyone knows models aren’t too bright Gigi claimed she shared something she “did not fact check or deeply think about prior to reposting.” Hadid’s scanty posts are meticulously crafted making it all the more surprising her publicity team allowed this to go through. In her “apology” Gigi calls out Israel for “systemic mistreatment of the Palestinian people” and “violations of international law and human rights”-is this really her idea of an apology? Has Israel ever “raped, abducted or tortured” one child in its midst? Maybe her failure to “deeply think” was accompanied by a failure to read and she confused Hamas who actually raped, abducted and tortured children on October 7th with Israel whose released Palestinian prisoners look like they came out of a raging party. Gigi has failed to address her equally inflammatory video on November 26th which claimed that Israeli authorities have unlawfully harvested the organs of dead Palestinians for years. What is her excuse for this blood libel? Does being raised by Jew hating Palestinian Mohamed Hadid qualify as a justification?

Absolutely despicable.

Immediately after the most horrific massacres since the Holocaust, Gigi failed to condemn Hamas by name and on October 16th, less than ten days after the attack wrote, “there is nothing Jewish about the Israeli government’s treatment of Palestinians.” She then went onto wrongfully claim “condemning the Israeli government is not antisemitic and supporting Palestinians is not supporting Hamas.” Israel’s Instagram account took the rare step of attacking a celebrity by posting a bloodied child’s bedroom with the caption “if you don’t condemn this your words mean nothing.” Her boyfriend Brad Cooper has unfortunately been influenced by Gigi’s vitriol after first signing an open group letter to Biden on October 24th requesting “freedom from the brutal violence spread by Hamas… and most importantly freedom for the hostages” he quickly followed it up with an Artists4Ceasefire letter which only mentions the suffering of Gazans and calls on the US to prevent Israel from defending itself. It is coincidentally signed by his love interest Gigi along with her keffiyeh wearing sister Bella and other Israel haters such as Dua Lipa, Macklemore, Mark Ruffalo and Cynthia Nixon.

Gigi’s anti-Semitic outbursts are nothing new as she stated in 2022 she was donating the proceeds of her runway show to those in Ukraine who are “experiencing the same as in Palestine.” I was under the misconception that civilian Jews were analogous to Ukrainians as they were both preemptively killed without warning or cause. Lest anyone forget, one of the most shameful Twitter posts of Gigi was in 2018 when Israel had clashed with Palestinians at the Gaza border and Gigi responded, “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. For me this is not about religion or one against the other-it’s about the greed.#FreePalestine #freegaza #coexist.” The Anti-Defamation League has named “the myth of greed” as one of the most prominent anti-semitic tropes since the Middle Ages-since Gigi doesn’t fact check, think deeply or read, apparently she was unaware. Once again Gigi backtracked saying this wasn’t her intention and she would no longer take a stand on online platforms-about as truthful as her claims to not be anti-semitic. Let’s not place all the blame on Gigi as the companies that employ her are equally responsible for not canceling her in 2018 the same way Adidas waited a decade to cut ties with Hitler loving Kanye West. Gigi’s impressive endorsements which net her close to $20 million a year are due to her contracts with Maybelline, Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, and BMW. Employed by IMG Worldwide which is run by Patrick Whitesell and Ari Emanuel, whose father was paradoxically active in the Zionist paramilitary group the Irgun, the agency has failed to release any statement condemning her remarks or put her on any type of probation. The Hadids’ careers have soared despite their blatant anti-Israel bias which is why they continue to remain unabashed proponents of anti-semitic tropes and conspiracy theories. As for Brad Cooper, his failure to say “I don’t share my girlfriend’s views” as he supports a premature ceasefire while donning a prosthetic Jewish nose is duly noted. I am hoping at some point he wipes that huge Award winning grin off his face and confronts some real life human exigencies.
