The tiny oceanfront community of Golden Beach, Florida has another impressive home listing.
As reported by the Wall Street Journal, a three-story house was listed in Golden Beach asking $45 million. If the home sells at close to the asking price, it will be among the highest priced properties ever sold in upscale Golden Beach.
The home, located in the elite community near Miami, is directly on the beach and has been completely rebuilt. Homeowners Samuel Ohev-Zion, CEO of mobile-phone company BLU products, and his wife Michelle Bittman had purchased the property in 2015 for $11 million, as they property records show. They knocked down the home on the site, which dated back to the 1920s. The new home they built was completed in 2019, said listing agent Nelson Gonzalez of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services EWM Realty.
BLU Products, the company that Ohev-Zion founded are present throughout Latin America, Central America, the United States, and all of the Caribbean, according to a Wikipedia report. BLU sold 70,000 units in its first year in 2009, and rapidly became the leading mobile device brand in Latin America, selling 4.1 million units the following year.
In Aruba, Digicel introduced in September 2013 a low-cost BLU Android cellphone for the local market, going for only Afl.9 (approximately US$6) with a post-paid plan, Wikipedia reported. In May 2017, BLU became the official shirt sponsor of Spanish football club Valencia CF.
The contemporary house spans close to 12,000 square feet, boasting eight bedrooms and ten bathrooms, with an oversized open-plan living and dining area with breath-taking ocean views, a home theater, an elevator, a game room and two big terraces with summer kitchens. The home also features an outdoor pool, spa and cabana, as well as a rooftop terrace overlooking the ocean. There is also a detached guest suite with a bedroom, living room and kitchenette. The home at 263 Ocean Blvd was built by Miami developer Todd Michael Glaser. The property includes 75 feet of frontage on the ocean, Mr. Gonzalez added.
Golden Beach is currently one of the few neighborhoods in Miami-Dade County which allows single-family homes directly on the sand, Mr. Gonzalez told the WSJ. The posh community has a population of fewer than 1,000 people, as per recent census data. The secluded nature is a boon for celebrities, though, attracting more than its fair share of VIPS, including designer Tommy Hilfiger, singer Ricky Martin, singer Eric Clapton and billionaire Bill Gates.
Over the last few years, the market in Golden Beach has become particularly hot. In June, software billionaire Phillip Ragon, the founder of InterSystems, paid $93 million for three neighboring beachfront homes in the area. He has plans to knock down the homes and build a new super mansion. The neighborhood currently has a home listed nearby which is available on the market for $100 million, as per The Wall Street Journal.
That home, built in 1995, spans a whopping 25,867 square feet, with nine bedrooms, and eleven bathrooms. The mega estate is the biggest oceanfront home in all of Miami, boasting 250 feet of ocean frontage on more than 1.5 acres, as per listing agent Ryan Serhant, CEO and founder of Serhant RealEstate Brokerage. Notable amenities in that home include a 58 foot outdoor swimming pool, poolside cabana, and grand veranda overlooking theocean, a spa, gym, bowling alley, home theatre, and six-car garage.
