An eco-chic townhouse, dating back to the 1850s, has been listed for sale asking $9.2 million.

As reported by the NY Post, the six-story, 18-foot-wide townhouse is currently owned by top fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski and his wife Giada.  Located at 122 E. 10th St in the East Village, it is part of the Renwick Triangle, or Renwick Row, in the St. Mark’s Historic District.  The 3,769 square foot townhome home has 8 bedrooms and 5.0 bathrooms.

Lubormirski, 46, is the famed photographer who does photo shoots for Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and other top fashion magazines.   Born in London, he was the official photographer for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding and engagement.  He has photographed stars including: Beyoncé, Julia Roberts, Demi Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Natalie Portman and Lupita Nyong’o.  His wife, Giada, who is a producer and has experience in various fashion and textile design ventures in New York City, has shifted to focus on environmental advocacy, founding Ecoshaker in 2014.  She oversaw a sustainable gut renovation of the townhouse.  The couple has two sons, and they reside together in New York.

Original details preserved in the townhouse include wood-burning fireplaces with exposed brick, modern French pocket doors, radiant heated floors and marble bathrooms.  The home also boasts a private garden and a large roof deck, complete with a dining table and barbeque.  The oversized home had previously been divided into three units.  Actress Molly Ringwald and Panio Gianopoulos had owned the 2-bedroom, 1.5-bath apartment upstairs, selling it to the Lubomirskis in 2016 for $1.7 million. Previously in 2015, the Lubomirskis had purchased the 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath unit of the home for $3.47 million.  The current listing is being handled by Cote Luxury Real Estate’s Victoria Terri-Cote, and Cristina Cote, who stars in HGTV’s “Happily Wherever.”

The home’s location, East of NoHo, is a quiet and desirable block where many famous people have lived.  As per the Post, Mary-Kate Olsen and her former-husband, banker Olivier Sarkozy owned two twin townhouses across the street at 123 and 125 E. 10th St. Those homes, which hit the market in 2019 for a combined $15.99 million, shared one of the largest private gardens in Manhattan.  Mark Twain also lived in a townhouse on Renwick Row, which was built by famed architect, James Renwick, Jr, for his own parents.  Architect Stanford White was born and lived in 118 East 10th Street.
