New York City’s elite hotels are polishing up their services to attract tourists this holiday season.

The Big Apple’s night life has returned post-pandemic, Times Square, shopping on Fifth and Madison Avenues are in full swing, and Broadway is open for business.  NYC hotels too are doing their best to up amenities and programming for the holiday season.

As reported by Crain’s NY, the Baccarat Hotel, the five-star hotel on West 53rd Street is extravagantly decorated for the season with ruby-red roses and festive décor to lure visitors. The hotel, which boasts 114 superbly appointed guest rooms and suites, is keeping its time- honored holiday tradition of afternoon tea.  The unique menu experience includes the Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco Tea, which includes Torte, Chocolate Mousse, mini Strawberry Cheesecake and Saffron Canelé Rose Madeleines for a price of $125.  There is also a specialty children’s Tea, named Le Petit Prince for $80, which includes a beef slider and mini lobster roll.

The Baccarat also offers specialty menus for the holidays featuring classic and contemporary French American cuisine as well as handcrafted cocktails added to the Grand Salon’s extensive wine and Champagne list.  On New Years, the hotel is offering a three-course meal with music by a four-piece band.  1 Hotel, with locations at Central Park and the Brooklyn bridge, also owned by Starwood SH Hotels along with the Baccarat, is also offering a variety of holiday events.  One highlight is a New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball at Harriet’s Lounge rooftop in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The Sanctuary, situated in the heart of Times Square on 47th street, is home to the Haven Rooftop– which has been transformed into the Haven Ski Chalet for the Christmas season. The décor, which features cranberry bundles, holly arches and shimmering lights, has succeeded in drawing ample visitors.  Tables are also decked with flannel pillows and blankets. The rooftop hotspot has Christmas-themed cocktail concoctions on the menus with lunch, brunch or dinner.

The Chatwal, owned by Hyatt, is just steps from Broadway, so it’s fitting they would offer something musical for the holidays.  The luxury art deco style hotel has a Neil Diamond musical package for the holidays– which includes a hotel stay and resort credit, premium tickets to the musical and a private greeting from the show’s concierge, per Crain’s. The Chatwal is also offering on-site gift wrapping for holiday gifts to bring back home to the family.

Motto by Hilton in Chelsea is running a holiday market each Saturday through Dec. 16. The market showcases gift options from local small businesses.  Also, the hotel’s lounge has a special holiday menu complete with holiday negroni, Italian coffee, spiked hot chocolate, and a holiday cookie basket.

The Dominick Hotel in SoHo is collaborating with local artists, having set up a partnership with Lizzie Fortunato to trim in-suite holiday trees. Guests can also get gift packages that include handcrafted jewelry packages.

Per Crain’s, the Greenwich Hotel, lauded for its wellness spa, is also getting into the holiday spirit.  The Tribeca hotel will place a fresh decorated Christmas Tree in the living room of any guest staying for three nights or more in one of their suites or duplexes.
