County Executive Blakeman Praised Police Officers and Thanked Residents for Their Support
Mineola, NY – Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder celebrated and honored the Nassau County Police Department on Sunday as it marked its 100th anniversary.
In a statement, County Executive Blakeman echoed the sentiments of the 70,000 residents who attended the parade in expressing gratitude to local police officers.
“We appreciate the men and women who keep us safe each and every day and remember those who died in the line of duty protecting our beautiful and great County,” he said. “Residents of Nassau County love their Police Department. May God bless them all and God bless America.”
Police Commissioner Ryder thanked all the police officers and officials from various jurisdictions who attended the event, emphasizing that the event was a unifying moment.
“We are here for one reason, and one reason only: to recognize and thank the men and women who serve,” he said. “The County Executive said he wanted the biggest police parade in the country. No one has ever in the country’s history done just a police parade. Well, it happened here today.”
The work of the Nassau County Police Department plays a significant role in why Nassau County has been recognized as the safest county in America and the most desirable place to live in New York. County Executive Blakeman plans to continue investing in local law enforcement to keep our streets and residents safe.
