Radical Islam’s War Against the West

Dear Editor:

As Trump is Making America Great Again, Europe has regressed to the 1930s, not that America was a bastion of freedom in the 1930s either.

In the 1930’s Hitler was ranting and raving and persecuting his Jews. In the Middle East, his ally, Haj Amin al-Husseini was carrying out pogroms against Jews as well.

Britain didn’t waste any energy on Europe’s Jews, restricted immigration to their mandate for Palestine (the reconstituted Jewish homeland) and appointed Husseini Grand Mufti of Jerusalem. British groveling did not buy Arab gratitude.

Neville Chamberlain tried throwing Czechoslovakia to the Nazis, hoping for tranquility in Britain.

It was thanks to America joining WWII that Brits are still speaking English. Britain’s second language is Arabic, but for how long?

Radical Islam has been fighting a 100-year war against the West. America and Israel, the 10th most powerful country in the world, are fighting back. The UK, Spain, France, Italy, Canada, Australia and others are doing their best to cow-tow to the Islamists who are bent on subjugating them.

America won’t save your bacon this time. And, Israel will defend itself against Iran and its psychopathic, genocidal, religious flunkies, whether you like it or not.

Sincerely

A Student’s Backwards Facts

Dear Editor:

Writing in the latest issue of the Jewish Review of Books, a professor at George Washington University referred to a pro-Hamas student protester who “held a placard with Israel at the center and spokes radiating outward to other evils: imperialism, white supremacy, even reproductive injustice.”

The idea that Jews are at the center of all the world’s evils echoes classic antisemitic conspiracy theories, such as those articulated in the infamous Protocols of the Elders of Zion, the literature of Nazi Germany, and Palestinian Authority propaganda.

But what’s also interesting is how the three accusations made on the placard at George Washington U. were complete inversions of the truth.

Far from being “imperialist,” Israel probably holds the world record for making territorial concessions to its neighbors. Again and again, the Israelis have handed over areas that they captured in self-defense against Arab aggression.

In 1949, Israel withdrew from territory in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Gaza, and northern Sinai. In 1957, it withdrew from Gaza again, and the entire Sinai peninsula. Following the 1973 war, Israel pulled back from territory in Syria and Egypt. It withdrew from Lebanon in 1978, 1983, and 2000. In 1994, Israel withdrew from Gaza, Jericho, and part of Jordan. In 1995, it handed over control of 40% of Judea-Samaria (the areas where 96% of the Palestinian Arabs reside) to the Palestinian Authority. In 2005, Israel surrendered the rest of Gaza and part of northern Samaria.

And just last year, the Israelis withdrew from half of Gaza, even though the Hamas terrorists there still have not given up their weapons.

The student’s allegation that Israelis are “white” is equally laughable. Three-fourths of Israelis were born in the Middle East, Africa, or Latin America. Benjamin Netanyahu, who was born in Tel Aviv, is just as much a person of color as Rashida Tlaib’s parents, who were born a few miles down the road.

As for “reproductive injustice,” Israel has one of the most liberal abortion laws in the world—by stark contrast with Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and the Palestinian Authority, where abortion is illegal (except to directly save the mother’s life).

So how does a George Washington University student reach the conclusion that territory-surrendering Israel is “imperialist,” that Israeli people of color are “white,” and that pro-abortion Israel is anti-abortion?

How does someone enrolled in classes taught by prominent scholars of history and political science get the most basic facts backwards?

Sincerely
Prof. Rafael Medoff

It’s Not Okay to Set Jews on Fire

Dear Editor:

A Palestinian Arab terrorist who was convicted of trying to set Jews on fire has been arrested in Wisconsin. Local and national Muslim leaders are rallying to his side, and some elected officials are, too.

Salah Sarsour, president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee, was arrested for lying on his green card application, by failing to acknowledge that he was convicted of throwing flaming bottles of gasoline at the homes of Israeli Jews in the late 1980s, and spent two years in prison for his crime.

A rally was held in Milwaukee on Thursday to praise Sarsour and demand his release. Among those attending were Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley.

Wisconsin State Rep. Ryan Clancy said the arrest of Sarsour proves that “we must abolish ICE.” US Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-Wisc.) said Sarsour is being targeted “based on the color of his skin.”

(Sarsour, by the way, is Middle Eastern, meaning that he has the same color skin as the Middle Eastern Jews whom he tried to set on fire. )

None of the statements issued by these elected officials included the eight simple words, “It’s not okay to set Jews on fire.”

Ten national Muslim and Palestinian-American organizations, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), issued a statement claiming Sarsour has been “abducted” by the U.S. government. Their statement, too, failed to include any acknowledgement that it’s not okay to set Jews on fire.

Instead, the ten groups hailed Sarsour as “a principled role model for countless people.” Which is true, of course, for those people who reside in the territories controlled by the Palestinian Authority, where terrorists who try to set Jews on fire are indeed promoted by the regime as role models. But not in American society.

There was a time, not so long ago, when politicians and advocacy groups felt compelled to at least pay lip service to the idea that setting Jews on fire is wrong. But not anymore, apparently.

Sincerely,
Prof. Rafael Medoff
