Trump Admin Officials Reportedly Fume Over Netanyahu’s Regional Strikes, Warning of Risks to U.S. Middle East Strategy
By: Fern Sidman
A recent report has revealed significant behind-the-scenes tension between the Trump administration and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over Israel’s military activities in the Middle East. According to a report that appeared on Sunday at World Israel News, senior U.S. officials within President Trump’s inner circle have expressed private outrage at what they perceive as reckless actions by the Israeli leader — actions they fear could jeopardize President Trump’s carefully calibrated foreign policy in the region.
The rift, as highlighted in the World Israel News report intensified following Israeli airstrikes in Syria last week. Among the targets was a Syrian envoy dispatched to mediate a violent conflict between Bedouin tribes and the Druze minority in the southern Syrian city of Suwayda. Despite explicit calls from Washington urging Israel to exercise restraint, Netanyahu’s government proceeded with the strikes, fueling frustration among Trump’s top advisers.
In a report that has captured international attention, World Israel News cited remarks from unnamed White House officials who described Netanyahu’s behavior in particularly harsh terms. “Bibi acted like a madman. He bombs everything all the time,” one official told reporters, adding that such actions risk undermining Trump’s regional strategy — a strategy that has sought, during the president’s second term, to reduce U.S. military involvement in foreign conflicts and stabilize relationships with long-time adversaries.
Central to Trump’s Middle East policy has been an effort to rebuild diplomatic ties with Syria’s new leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa. This approach marks a shift in U.S. posture, given al-Sharaa’s controversial history, including past links to terrorist organizations like al-Qaeda. Nevertheless, the Trump administration has calculated that fostering a working relationship with al-Sharaa could be a critical element in reducing tensions in the region and preventing further U.S. entanglements.
However, Israeli military operations have complicated those diplomatic overtures. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in remarks referenced by World Israel News, warned that Syria was “weeks away from potential collapse and a full-scale civil war of epic proportions” — a prospect made more likely, some fear, by continued Israeli strikes.
The Trump administration’s special envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack, reportedly made direct appeals to Israeli officials urging them to halt their bombing campaigns. Israel temporarily paused its operations, only to resume strikes shortly thereafter — including attacks on targets perilously close to the Syrian presidential palace.
Despite Syrian President al-Sharaa’s decision not to retaliate against Israel, other key U.S. allies in the region — notably Turkey and Saudi Arabia — voiced sharp complaints to Washington over Israel’s aggressive posture. According to the information provided in the World Israel News report, these diplomatic protests have further strained the administration’s efforts to maintain a fragile regional balance.
The tensions come on the heels of Netanyahu’s recent visit to Washington, a trip that included a warm reception at the White House and Netanyahu’s public announcement of his intention to nominate President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. Yet, even that display of camaraderie could not conceal the undercurrent of dissatisfaction simmering within the Trump administration.
Some administration insiders, speaking on background to reporters and cited by World Israel News, have suggested that Netanyahu’s military aggressiveness is at least partially motivated by his own domestic political considerations. “The Israelis need to get their head out of their asses,” one official bluntly remarked.
Adding to the friction was an incident in Gaza that further complicated U.S.-Israel relations. Israeli shelling reportedly struck Gaza’s only Catholic church, an attack that left three civilians dead and ten injured. The aftermath of the strike, reported by World Israel News, saw President Trump personally calling Netanyahu to demand an explanation. Israel subsequently issued a public expression of regret, though sources close to the administration described the episode as emblematic of a troubling pattern of behavior.
“The feeling is that every day there is something new. What the f—k?” one exasperated official reportedly told reporters, according to the information in the World Israel News report. Another official, in comments similarly cited by the news outlet, likened Netanyahu’s approach to that of “a child who just won’t behave.”
Perhaps most notably, the rift extends beyond the Syrian conflict. Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets last month occurred at a particularly delicate moment — during sensitive U.S. negotiations with Tehran. These strikes not only blindsided American diplomats but also risked derailing a fragile diplomatic dialogue.
Though President Trump initially expressed discomfort with the Israeli action, he subsequently authorized U.S. bunker buster strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities himself. This decision underscored the complicated interplay between Trump’s personal instincts, strategic calculations, and Netanyahu’s aggressive posture in the region.
The relationship between Washington and Jerusalem has weathered similar tensions under previous administrations, including those of Barack Obama and Joe Biden. However, Trump has maintained publicly cordial relations with Netanyahu, even amid private grievances — a dynamic that sets this administration apart from its predecessors.
Historical context provided by World Israel News recalled key flashpoints in the U.S.-Israel relationship. Among them was Netanyahu’s public acknowledgment of Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential victory, a move that reportedly irked Trump and his inner circle. Another sensitive episode involved Netanyahu’s last-minute withdrawal from assisting in the U.S. operation targeting Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in early 2020 — an action that fueled speculation about Netanyahu’s reliability as a strategic partner.
Despite the mounting frustrations, the Trump administration has refrained from publicly rebuking Netanyahu. This restraint, according to officials quoted by the outlet, reflects a broader strategy of preserving the public image of unity between the United States and its most steadfast Middle East ally, even amid severe policy disagreements.
The significance of these private expressions of dissatisfaction lies in the potential implications for regional stability and the credibility of U.S. foreign policy. As the Trump administration continues its push for reduced American involvement in Middle Eastern conflicts, Israeli military actions that complicate or contradict those objectives remain a central concern within the White House.
Moreover, the report at World Israel News pointed out that while Netanyahu’s public embrace of Trump — including his Nobel Peace Prize endorsement — has drawn attention, it has done little to mitigate the deep-seated frustrations of Trump’s senior advisors. Behind closed doors, the administration remains wary of being dragged into regional conflicts by Israel’s unilateral military decisions.
The overarching message from administration sources, as reported by World Israel News, suggests that unless Israel aligns more closely with U.S. strategic objectives, the current tensions may escalate into a more pronounced diplomatic rift. For now, both Washington and Jerusalem appear intent on maintaining public solidarity, even as private conversations reflect a more complicated reality.

Sounds like bullshit. And yet it is being reported as fact by TJV. you mentioned World Israel News, but the alleged source is actually allegedlyleftist progressive anti-Israel Axios. This is “triple hearsay”. Totally unidentified “Trump administration” comments, unidentified WIN reporters, from unidentified Axios reporters. This doesn’t qualify as reporting at all. And the language allegedly used by responsible Trump administration employees is unbelievable and beneath contempt. This is the worst kind of yellow journalism. You are suggesting that no one wants to go on the record, but simply get away with an attributed unverifiable unrealistic absurd unprofessional slanders.
You are a “news” organization. Why not pose the question directly? You have an obligation NOT to report this kind of garbage.
What about the Druze massacre? Were they supposed to just let these people die?
Nobody else stepped up to the plate. I didn’t hear a word about it except with respect to Israel stepping in to protect these people.
Why does Hamas allow one Catholic church to operate in Gaza? Is that Catholic church an agent of Hamas in some way?
TJV: Note your story below, recognizing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a HERO for his virtuous courageous response in attacking Syria to save the Druze from being slaughtered, for which you have here repeatedly slandered him here as a “MADMAN.”
“Beyond the shock and sorrow, many Druze in the Golan expressed profound gratitude toward Israel for what they saw as a decisive intervention. On July 16, just days after the massacre, the Israel Air Force struck key regime targets in Damascus — a move seen by some in the Druze community as a critical action that helped stop the bloodshed.” (Courtesy of “madman” Benjamin Netanyahu.)
I think TJV owes PM Netanyahu and Israel a profound apology.
We reported what people from the Trump administration said about Netanyahu, we report the news, we said nothing except what was reported, pleae seek your filtered propaganda elsewhere if you can not handle the news, you seek 100% pro Netanyau propaganda, you take Netanyahu over the Jewish people, Netanyahu over Israel, it is sick, seek help. This is what was reported, it is of interest, get bent if you don’t like it.
People in the Trump administratio said this not TJV. Accoding to your logic, many in the Trump administration are “Nazi” “jew haters”, so why sre you so upset? You make little sense, at this point. Why are you so in love with Netanyahuu to the point where a story about “Nazi” “Jew hating” Trump administration saying something about Bibi drives you mental?? The people who you have trashed the last 6 months on this message board, said Netanyahu is crazy, and you are mad at us? Why do you love this man so much?. Stop assailing this site, if you don’t like it, you can get your news elsewhwere, rdon’t blame us for what Trump’s administration may have said, don’t shoot the messabger. IT IS s an interesting styory, thwre is no way we wwre not going to feature it
I have been deciding whether to respond, (by necessity publicly) to the surprising intensely hostile emotional unsigned public personal criticism from TJV personally directed at me here, particularly since I do not know the identity, seniority, authority or maturity level of the TJV employee making them.
I think the personal criticism is unwarranted and unprofessional given our different roles. In my own defense, as a reader my comments have been made in good faith and sincerely in the defense of Israel and the Jewish people to a news organization (which for years I read and strongly support) which claims to be their “voice”.
Perhaps it is a “teachable” moment for both of us. I hope other readers are not intimidated, and I will be interested in hearing any insights available from other readers.
Concerning the original subject TJV news report containing videos uncharacteristically hostile to Israel:
I am not convinced that any of this was “said by people from the Trump administration“ about Netanyahu. There is not a single name identified. I think that at a minimum, professional journalism requires attribution before anonymous unattributed attacks (e.g., MADMAN) are republished by TJV. Otherwise, “publication is not warranted at all.” (See NY Times reporting standard, infra. **)
I don’t know who was responsible at TJV for choosing the propaganda graphics to headline this despicable slander of Israel, or collecting the four vicious slanderous anti-Israel videos unusually republished in this “news story”.
There is not a single credible source among them, and it is irresponsible to have republished them.
The lead story and video appears to be from a new wholly-owned Fox subsidiary, “LIVE NOW” from FOX, which recently appeared on the scene in YouTube. It was not broadcast on the “mainstream” Fox cable channel, and engages in the most irresponsible slanderous reporting imaginable (something Fox would not dare to do so in its own name in its cable news).
In its YouTube debut, SLANDEROUS Fox antisemite Jeané Franseen “reported“ with a straight face, and with no attempt to confirm or validate obvious outlandish heinous slanders against the Jewish state of Israel! Fox brazenly claimed Israel engaged in the gratuitous mass slaughter of unarmed Gazan civilians, men, women and children attempting to reach food, by simply repeating unsupported outrageous slanders “reported” as facts by antisemites at AXIOS!
There is NO evidence of Israel behaving like the Muslim monsters on October 7, 2023, and yet that is exactly what is is claimed. Israel promptly responded to the lies by posting videos of what ACTUALLY occurred!
TJV here piles on one venomous blood libel video after another in this “news”, for a total of four, from “LIVE NOW” from Fox, “Crux“, “Times of India“, and Reuters.
They are all bad. The worst among them is Times Of India, a virulently anti-Israel website routinely slandering Israel featuring anti-Israel slanderers Saagar Enjeti, Tucker Carlson, and Barack Ravid.
Neither Fox nor TJV made any attempt to verify or validate or document, much less investigate, these horrific blood libels against Israeli Jews before repeating them as fact! And it continues to do so. The law provides no excuse for this kind of reckless, malicious, intentional lies by any “news“ organization.
** Even historically antisemitic lying New York Times claims:
“Attribution to another publication, though, cannot serve as license to print rumors that would not meet the test of The Times’s 0wn reporting standards. Rumors must satisfy The Times’s standard of newsworthiness, taste and plausibility before publication, even when attributed. And when the need arises to attribute, that is a good cue to consult with the department head about whether publication is warranted at all.”
– The New York Times
(I have generally admired TJV’s concern and loyalty to Israel and the Jewish people. This report is a surprising TJV outlier. Because of additional slanders against me by an unidentified poster on “TJV news”, I am now being forced to respond.
There are no videos hostile to Israel, get a grip on reality
They are obviously contained in the story above.
Please identify yourself. (You seem to be having a problem with your typing.) If you are actually employed by TJV, I want to find out who there is personally harassing and insulting me here so I can discuss it with TJV. If you are not, I will need to report you to them and any other appropriate authority.
All sources used are solid video sources, none of them are Anti Israel. You are not a journalist, you want to present total one sided propaganda (not even pro Israel but desire only Netanyahu 100% approved news) While we are as pro Israel as you can get and one of the only sources PERIOD that is pro Netanyahu, you seem to desire government news, not actual journalism. We do the NEWS. Same way you insulted our editor Fern with accusations of calling her Nazi and an anti- Israel propsgandist (which was insane and totally wrong) , Crux, JTV, Fox Now and all the rest offer decent videos presenting the topic in each story and it improves our engagement. You are an extemist, to call Fern Sidman an anti-Israel Nazi (back in May I believe) This drew discussion from the top brass at TJV to ban you from the message board. I decided against it. So refrain from the endless attacks on our content.
