As the 2024 elections approach, New York voters stand at a crossroads. The issues affecting our state, from skyrocketing taxes to rampant crime, unchecked immigration, and the decline of public education, demand new leadership—leadership that has the courage to confront these problems head-on. The Democratic Party, with its woke agenda and failed policies, has shown time and again that it is not up to the task. New Yorkers must take a stand for their state and choose Republican candidates who will fight for safety, economic stability, and traditional values.

Economic Crisis and Rampant Inflation

New York’s economy is suffocating under the weight of the Democrats’ tax-and-spend policies. Residents are fleeing the state in droves, unable to keep up with exorbitant property taxes, increased costs of living, and crippling inflation. Under Democratic leadership, the state’s once-thriving middle class is disappearing, replaced by financial instability and uncertainty.

Republican candidates such as Michael Lawler (District 18) and Marcus Molinaro (District 19) have continuously advocated for fiscal responsibility. They understand that lower taxes and reduced regulation will spur growth and attract businesses back to New York. Mike Sapraicone, who is running for U.S. Senate, has also made it clear that a change in economic policy is crucial if New York is to regain its economic footing.

Out-of-Control Crime and the Push to Defund the Police

Perhaps nothing is more emblematic of the Democrats’ failure than their disastrous “defund the police” movement and soft-on-crime policies. The Manhattan DA’s office, under Democratic control, has taken a lenient stance on crime, endangering the lives of everyday New Yorkers. Criminals, knowing they will not face serious consequences, have become emboldened, and violence has surged, particularly in New York City.

Nicole Malliotakis (District 11) has been a leading voice against these disastrous policies, standing strong in her defense of law enforcement and calling for tougher laws to protect New Yorkers. The rise of gang violence, particularly MS-13 on Long Island, has become another critical issue. Thomas Zmich (District 6) and William Kregler (District 7) have made fighting this violence central to their campaigns, promising to push for harsher penalties and stronger enforcement to restore peace to Long Island communities.

The Immigration Crisis and Open Borders

The Biden-Harris administration’s open-border policies have created a humanitarian and financial crisis for New York. Democratic leaders in the state have welcomed waves of illegal immigrants, burdening already strained public services, schools, and healthcare systems. New York City, once the pride of the state, is now struggling to accommodate thousands of migrants, overwhelming shelters and public resources.

Tina Forte (District 14) and Gonzalo Duran (District 15) have been vocal in their opposition to illegal immigration, understanding the strain it places on both the state’s economy and its safety. With growing crime linked to gang activity among illegal immigrants, this issue can no longer be ignored. Republicans are the only candidates willing to address the border crisis honestly and push for common-sense immigration policies that prioritize the safety and wellbeing of American citizens.

The Fentanyl Crisis

The fentanyl epidemic, exacerbated by unchecked immigration and lax enforcement, is destroying lives across the state, particularly among young people. The Biden administration has failed to secure the border, allowing fentanyl to pour into New York. While Democrats continue to turn a blind eye, Republican candidates such as Brandon Williams (District 22) and Claudia Tenney (District 24) are pledging to crack down on fentanyl distribution, working with law enforcement to stem the tide of this deadly drug.

Failing Public Schools and the Threat of the Woke Agenda

New York’s public schools are failing our children. Despite pouring billions of taxpayer dollars into education, Democratic leadership has produced dismal results, particularly in underprivileged communities. Instead of focusing on core subjects like math, science, and literacy, Democrats have prioritized pushing a woke, progressive agenda in the classroom. The radical left’s embrace of the transgender agenda is one such example, where biological men are now competing in women’s sports, jeopardizing both fairness and safety for young female athletes.

Republican candidates such as Miriam Flisser (District 16) and Ruben D. Vargas (District 13) are standing up for parents’ rights to determine what is taught in schools and for preserving the integrity of women’s sports. They understand that the radical transgender agenda, endorsed by many Democrats, threatens the very foundation of fair competition and erases hard-won gains for women’s rights. Voters must recognize the dangers this agenda poses to both our children and society as a whole.

Rising Anti-Semitism and the Democratic Party’s Failure to Respond

Anti-Semitism is on the rise in New York and across the country, yet Democratic leaders have done little to address it. Worse still, many Democratic candidates have expressed support for withholding arms shipments to Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East, during a time when the Jewish state faces existential threats from Hamas and other Islamic terrorist organizations. This abandonment of Israel is unforgivable and highlights the growing influence of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), whose anti-Israel stance has infiltrated the mainstream of the Democratic Party.

Republican champions such as Elise Stefanik (District 21) and Mike Lawler (District 18) have consistently confronted anti-Semitism on college campuses, where Jewish students face harassment and intimidation. They have also been unwavering in their support for Israel, understanding that standing with Israel is standing against terrorism and for democracy. Their efforts in Congress to ensure Israel’s security deserve recognition and the continued support of New Yorkers.

Also on the ballot on November 5th is Republican Assemblyman Michael Novakhov who represents Brooklyn’s 45th District. He has introduced and co-sponsored over 200 pieces of legislation, aiming to improve the quality of life for his constituents. His efforts focus on issues such as public safety, small business support, and education reform. He also successfully secured nearly half a million dollars in state and grant funding for various community organizations, bolstering essential services across his district. This funding supports initiatives in healthcare, education, and local business growth.

Republican Alison Esposito, a 25-year veteran of the New York City Police Department (NYPD), is running for Congress in New York’s 18th District. She is campaigning on a platform focused on restoring law and order, economic reform, and pushing back against pro-criminal policies such as cashless bail. She emphasizes her dedication to fighting inflation, addressing the migrant crisis, and standing up for working-class New Yorkers. With a strong background in public service and a commitment to common-sense reforms, Esposito seeks to offer a fresh perspective in Washington, ensuring that the voices of everyday citizens are heard.

A Call to Action

New Yorkers cannot afford to continue down the dangerous path the Democratic Party has laid. With a progressive agenda that threatens the economy, safety, and moral fabric of the state, Democrats have failed at every level of governance. From their reckless open-border policies to their soft-on-crime stance, they have put New Yorkers in harm’s way.

It is time to elect leaders who will protect our communities, uphold the rule of law, and defend the rights of all citizens. On November 5th, New Yorkers must vote for candidates such as Elise Stefanik, Nicole Malliotakis, Michael Lawler, and Mike Sapraicone—Republicans who are ready to fight for the future of New York. It is time to reclaim our state from the grip of radical progressivism and return to the principles that once made New York the Empire State.
