(TJV NEWS) Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced Monday the takedown of a “truly heinous” international child pornography ring, uncovered during a sweeping police sting operation that led to the arrest of eight individuals.

The ring, which authorities say operated through a website with a global reach, contained roughly one million child sexual abuse videos — some of which involved infant victims.
Special Counsel Rita Peters, who is spearheading the prosecution, revealed that many of the abused children have been identified in the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children database.
The suspects are facing serious felony charges, including RICO violations, money laundering, and possession and purchase of child pornography.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Commissioner Mark Glass joined AG Uthmeier at the press conference, describing the evidence as some of the most disturbing content authorities have ever seen.
“Many of these individuals were babies,” Glass said. “There is not a word in the English dictionary that can describe the gross content that was on the videos. The faces you see there are faces of evil.”
Investigators also believe the Chinese social media platform TikTok played a role in the distribution and procurement of illicit content. Uthmeier called on the company to take greater responsibility for its platform’s misuse.
The alleged ringleader, Mehmet Bozuyuk, was operating out of Turkey, and Florida officials are now coordinating with Homeland Security Investigations to secure his extradition to the U.S.
“You’ve got my word that in this state, we are going to do everything we can to hold these people accountable,” Uthmeier said. “If you are a child predator… I hope you never see the sun again.
