(A7) Hateful antisemitic graffiti, including a swastika, was removed from a building in a park in Queens, New York on Monday after police completed an investigation.

The vandalism was discovered on Thursday evening at Fort Totten Park in Bayside.

Officials removed the graffiti on Monday morning after the NYPD had completed an investigation.

A spokesperson from the New York Parks Department said in a statement: “Hate has no place in our parks. When offensive hate speech is discovered, we work with the NYPD to remove it immediately.

The antisemitic graffiti was condemned by Bayside Assemblyman Edward Braunstein.

“It has come to my office’s attention that graffiti of a swastika and other hateful language was discovered on a building within Fort Totten Park by Parks Department staff,” Braunstein said on Twitter. “The NYPD 109th Precinct has taken a report and is investigating. Hate will not be tolerated in our community.”
