(TJVNEWS.COM) Former Deputy Director-General and current Chief Scientist of the WHO Dr. Soumya Swaminathan made a shocking claim during a WHO virtual press conference on Monday, December 28th
“I don’t believe we have the evidence on any of the vaccines to be confident that it’s going to prevent people from actually getting the infection and therefore being able to pass it on,” Swaminathan said.
This is a high-level top scientist at the World Health Organization, not a random doctor or anti-vaccination blogger. Thus far, this startling statement has been completely ignored by the press.
From October 2017 to March 2019, Swaminathan was Deputy Director-General of the World Health Organization.[3][4]
In March 2019, she became Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization, where she participated in regular bi-weekly press briefings on the COVID-19 pandemic.[2] She has urged countries to conduct whole-genome sequencing of the SARS-CoV-2 virus more frequently and to upload sequences to the GISAID project
