On January 17, 2024, Mendy Mirocznik, President of the Staten Island Council of Jewish Organizations (COJO), and Ari Weiss, COJO Security Chairman and Coordinator of Staten Island Shomrim, joined the roll call at Pct. 122 in the New Dorp section of Staten Island. During this visit, they publicly congratulated Captain Luigi Carribba on his recent appointment as the commanding officer of the precinct, which serves a significant portion of the South and East Shore of Staten Island, including Eltingville, Great Kills, Bay Terrace, Oakwood Heights, Oakwood Beach, Lighthouse Hill, New Dorp, Grant City, Midland Beach, South Beach, Todt Hill, South Beach, Old Town, and Grasmere.

“As a boroughwide organization, COJO is delighted to extend our congratulations to Captain Carribba on his appointment as the commanding officer of Pct. 122. The people of Staten Island are fortunate to have Captain Carribba, a high-caliber officer, at the helm of the precinct. COJO is familiar with Captain Carribba’s dedication and commitment to public safety, demonstrated through his previous roles, including executive officer at Pct. 121 and service at various strategic positions within the NYPD. His professionalism has consistently met the highest standards expected from a police officer,” remarked Mendy Mirocznik, COJO President.

Captain Carribba expressed his gratitude, acknowledging COJO’s impactful work in the police community.
