Spring 2026 will bring a new wave of momentum to Israel’s tourism sector, marked by the return of even more direct routes with U.S. airline carriers. As flight capacity expands and confidence in international travel strengthens, visitors to Israel can experience the destination’s history, culture and beauty through a variety of events throughout the season.

From the highly anticipated Jerusalem Marathon to vibrant Purim celebrations and newly refreshed attractions across the country, travelers have more ways than ever to engage with Israel’s rich heritage and modern energy.”
FLIGHT UPDATES
Delta Airlines Relaunches Atlanta and Boston Routes
In 2026, Delta will resume flights to Tel Aviv (TLV) from Atlanta (ATL) and Boston (BOS), expanding its trans-Atlantic network and restoring nonstop service from key U.S. hubs to Israel. Service from Atlanta will begin on April 15, 2026, operating three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Daily service from Boston will begin Oct. 24, 2026. Beginning in April, Delta Airlines will be operating 10 weekly flights to Israel.
United Airlines resumed flights to Tel Aviv
United Airlines has resumed flights to Tel Aviv from two additional U.S. cities with 21 weekly flights and is expanding its service to Israel to 25 weekly flights in March 2026. The carrier relaunched its Chicago O’Hare (ORD)–Tel Aviv route on Nov. 1, followed by the restart of its Washington Dulles (IAD) service on Nov. 2. United operates the O’Hare route four times weekly and the Dulles route three times weekly.

Celebrating Purim in Israel
Purim in Israel, celebrated March 2–3 is one of the country’s most vibrant and widely embraced festivals. The holiday brings a lively, carnival-like atmosphere to cities, towns and villages nationwide, uniting religious and secular communities through street parties, costume parades and late-night celebrations at clubs and venues across Israel. Costumes, festive cocktails and traditional foods such as hamantaschen play a central role, with bakeries preparing the sweet triangular pastries in the days leading up to the holiday. From Tel Aviv’s high-energy street raves and annual Zombie Walk to family-friendly festivities in Jerusalem’s Safra Square and the long-running Adloyada parade in Holon, Purim offers a colorful and spirited look at Israeli culture and community life.
International Jerusalem Winner Marathon
The 15th International Jerusalem Winner Marathon is set for Friday, March 27, offering participants a world-class athletic challenge paired with an immersive exploration of one of the world’s most historic cities. Participants can race a variety of lengths, including a full marathon, half-marathon, 10K, 5K, a Family Race and a Community Race, making it accessible to runners of all levels. Along the route, participants encounter some of Jerusalem’s most iconic landmarks including the ancient walls of the Old City, the Knesset, Hebrew University and other significant sites that reflect more than 3,000 years of history. Beyond the physical challenge, the event provides a unique opportunity to experience the city’s culture, inspiring atmosphere and vibrant energy. The marathon is also accessible to participants with disabilities.
Yom Ha’atzmaut Celebrations
Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israeli Independence Day, celebrated in 2026 from sundown April 21 to sundown April 22, is a nationwide celebration of Israel’s independence and achievements. The day follows Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s memorial day. It begins with the major State Ceremony at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, where twelve torches are lit to symbolize the Twelve Tribes of Israel, honoring citizens who have made a significant impact on the country. Across Israel, cities, towns, and villages host a wide range of festivities, from fireworks displays and parades to cultural events, the International Bible Competition and the prestigious Israel Prize ceremony. Major cities like Tel Aviv host large-scale celebrations at Rabin Square, while Jerusalem comes alive with evening events, and museums and national parks offer special programs, making Yom Ha’atzmaut a spirited, unifying and colorful celebration of Israeli culture and community.
